The ESPY awards on ESPN used to be the biggest awards show of the year in sports. The ESPY award used to be a big event...and the television ratings reflected that. The ESPYs typically draw big ratings for ESPN/ABC.
The show peaked in 2015...and has been in decline ever since. 2015 was the year Caitlyn Jenner was given the courage award...and the year ESPN dove headfirst into woke politics. Ratings for the ESPY awards have declined...as ESPN has leaned further to the left.
We look at the historical ratings for the ESPY awards...and outline the rise and fall. We detail certain political incidents that occurred on the show from 2015-2021...and explain why the infusion of politics is destroying ESPN.
