Teen Vogue: Refuting Teen Vogue on Capitalism

I was sent an article a few weeks back regarding Teen Vogue and their take on capitalism, which I found rather quite strange given the content of their magazines.

It doesn't strike me as an organisation that prints political content, rather, the image Vogue gives is all based around fashion, etc. Their entire magazine is covered with material possessions that capitalism produced, albeit, we may not be living under a capitalist system, but capitalism present in the mixed economy is more than certainly responsible for what produced all those goods.

The view Teen Vogue have on capitalism is sadly not uncommon, especially amongst the youth. Whilst I can understand people's disillusionment at problems that exist today, it's a gross misunderstanding of the current system we live under and for why the problems occur. They use the common arguments about climate change, inequality and exploitation, etc, but they have no grasp of the real world, especially of human nature and economic reality.

I've covered in various other videos for why socialism doesn't work, so didn't feel the need to dive into all of that, but there is nothing more delusional than to believe socialism is workers ownership of the means of production despite the fact this has never been the case throughout recorded history with regards to socialism.
