RENAULT CAPTUR 2022 INTERIOR redefines the concept of driving pleasure

The Renault Captur won over the public thanks to its sophisticated design, in line with the strength and versatility of an SUV, in addition to all the easy life and connectivity offer. Now, in the 2022 line, the SUV arrives with a renewed external design, a revolution in the interior and the unprecedented and modern TCe (Turbo Control Effiency) 1.3 flex turbo engine, redefining the concept of driving pleasure.

In addition to the TCe 1.3 flex turbo engine that generates 170 hp and 27.5 kgfm, the highest torque in the segment, the Captur 2022 also arrives with the new CVT XTRONIC® automatic transmission. The marriage of this modern engine with the efficient continuously variable gearbox guarantees optimal retakes and faster overtaking.

The interior has been completely renovated. With soft-touch materials, Captur is on a new level of perceived quality. The top-of-the-line version also won the biton option in the interior with the combination of the Castanyera brown color, giving the vehicle an extra touch of refinement. The interior finish mixes details in piano black with chrome, such as around the multimedia system and the air vents.

To make life even easier on board, the new multimedia center with an eight-inch screen is faster and more intuitive, with mirroring of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphones, and Multiview system, with four cameras.

The steering is electric and the new steering wheel has height and depth adjustments, with illuminated commands for the “autopilot” (regulator and speed limiter) and voice command. Iconic's top-of-the-line version features the premium Bose sound system as an option, with six hi-fi speakers, trunk subwoofer and exclusive digital amplifier, providing a superior sound experience.

Ensuring more comfort for the driver, the armrest is now integrated into the console, which has been completely redesigned and won new cup holders. In addition to on-board comfort, backseat passengers now have two USB ports for easy charging of electronic devices in this increasingly connected world.

Captur also brings new technology and safety items, such as remote starting the engine with the new "hands free" key, which allows you to climate control the interior even before entering the vehicle, as well as a blind spot sensor in the mirrors, which indicates, for example, the presence of a motorcycle or automobile outside the driver's field of vision.

The efficient TCe 1.3 flex turbo propeller also brings technologies that Renault has developed on the Formula 1 tracks, a category in which the brand has already won 12 world titles, such as central direct injection with 250 bar pressure, turbocharger with electronic wastegate valve and dual control variable valves with electric actuators, which ensure optimized combustion with more performance and less fuel consumption.

The turbo TCe 1.3 flex is a global engine, which equips high-end models in several countries. Produced in Spain, this thruster ran more than 40,000 hours of testing in its development, more than 300,000 km of validation in extreme conditions and already had more than 1.2 million units produced in 2020. All the development of the flex version was left behind in charge of the team of engineers at RTA (Renault Tecnologia Américas), located at the Ayrton Senna Complex, in São José dos Pinhais (PR).

Turbocharger: works with a maximum pressure of 1.4 bar precisely controlled by the electronically controlled wastegate, which provides maximum torque at 1,600 rpm. With this technology, the engine gains in agility, to better respond to variations in inlet pressure.
Delta-shaped head: this construction allows for a more compact size reducing mass, lower center of gravity.
