The Greatest Deception

1 John 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come
(the impersonator)
2 Thessalonians 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
John is telling us that the impersonator is coming in the last days and Paul tells us where he is coming to. He will make his appearance in Jerusalem, stand in the holy place and claim to be god.

There are two ways to look at this. Those who saw him in the flesh didn’t believe He was a spirit and those who had never seen him in the flesh couldn’t believe he was also flesh. (If you don’t believe either way you are an imposter or antichrist.

In every verse the word “antichrist” is used, it’s used to describe an imposter or an impersonator, a mimic, a pretender or an actor, even to the point of becoming a phantom.
Somebody who claims to be Christ would never say they are against Christ publically. An imposter would never tell you they hate the person they are claiming to be. In other words get the word “anti” out of your mind… please.
Out of all the pejoratives I used above I think “impersonator” best describes satans attempt to impersonate the real Jesus Christ as the official false Christ. This was the point John was making and make no mistake he was talking about fake Christians who are impostors and also a singular antichrist.
