1 John 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come
(the impersonator)
2 Thessalonians 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
John is telling us that the impersonator is coming in the last days and Paul tells us where he is coming to. He will make his appearance in Jerusalem, stand in the holy place and claim to be god.

1 John 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. Just replace the word “antichrist” with “”imposter”’ or “”impersonator””
1 John 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
1 John 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, (an Impostor of the faith) whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

There are two ways to look at this. Those who saw him in the flesh didn’t believe He was a spirit and those who had never seen him in the flesh couldn’t believe he was also flesh. (If you don’t believe either way you are an imposter or antichrist.
2 John 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. (Imposter)

“Anti” G # 473 anti: over against, opposite, hence instead of, in comp. denotes contrast, requital, substitution, correspondence Original Word: ἀντί Part of Speech: Preposition
Transliteration: anti Phonetic Spelling: (an-tee') Definition: over against, opposite, instead of
Usage: (a) instead of, in return for, over against, opposite, in exchange for, as a substitute for, (b) on my behalf, (c) wherefore, because. for, in the place of. A primary particle; opposite, i.e. Instead or because of (rarely in addition to) -- for, in the room of. Often used in composition to denote contrast, requital, substitution, correspondence, etc.

“Antichrist” Strong’s G # 4108 planos: wandering, leading astray (adjective), a deceiver (substitute) Original Word: πλάνος, ον Part of Speech: Adjective
Transliteration: planos Phonetic Spelling: (plan'-os)
Definition: wandering, leading astray (adjective), a deceiver (subst.)
Usage: adj: misleading, deceiving, wandering; as substitute: a deceiver, imposter.

In every verse the word “antichrist” is used, it’s used to describe an imposter or an impersonator, a mimic, a pretender or an actor, even to the point of becoming a phantom.
Somebody who claims to be Christ would never say they are against Christ publically. An imposter would never tell you they hate the person they are claiming to be. In other words get the word “anti” out of your mind… please.
Out of all the pejoratives I used above I think “impersonator” best describes satans attempt to impersonate the real Jesus Christ as the official false Christ. This was the point John was making and make no mistake he was talking about fake Christians who are impostors and also a singular antichrist.
