There are many people out there who like to say that the Second Amendment is not a god-given right.

And you're right because the second amendment doesn't give rights; it codifies and enshrines a natural right of self-defense.

Take a look at what's going on right now in South Africa with this man, Nhlanhla lux, picking up arms to defend himself. We'll get to his statements as to why he took up arms in a second.

He doesn't need the second amendment to tell him that he needs to pick up a gun to protect himself and the people he cares about.

It's just a natural intuitive thing to do.

So for the people out there who question why do we have a second amendment.

It's not about what the constitution gives us; it enshrines it, it protects it.

We naturally will do it anyway when things start falling apart around us, and we have no other choice but to depend on ourselves because we can't rely on the government.

As you see here in this example, they can't depend on the government.

At the end of the day, when the government is nowhere to be found, and the only person that you can rely on is yourself, you're going to pick up a gun, and that is why we have the second amendment.

When we have to rely on ourselves, we have the most effective means to do it.

Nhlanhla lux, The Black South African man, stressed that he was armed because “the township economy belongs to the ordinary people of the township,” therefore it must be protected.

He also stated, “If we have the dependency syndrome of always waiting for a savior to come and save the township, we will keep dilapidating the way we are currently.”

“We are saying we are in partnership and joint ops with law enforcement to ensure that what’s left of the township infrastructure, from an economy point of view, is protected…It is our responsibility to ensure that we protect it.”

The man stressed that normal police forces are “not enough” and “don’t have the capacity necessary” to fight back against the kind of looting and violence that have marked South Africa this week.

He said, “It is important for the community to take responsibility and partner with law enforcement to ensure [the] infrastructure is protected.”

"We know Soweto is a place of millions of people with 11 police stations that already tells you the state alone that the metro police is not enough, they're not they don't have the capacity necessary."

"Therefore it's important for the community to take responsibility partner with law enforcement to ensure that our infrastructure is protected."

"The township has been looted, we've been taking advantage of, we've been abused, enough is enough we are going to protect what's left."

"What they're going to come for and loot we're going to protect with everything that we have."

"The township economy is ours. It doesn't belong to government, doesn't belong to politics, it belongs to the people on the ground."

"If we fail to protect what's ours no one will ever protect what's ours because we are all we have. We are all we have. We're not going to back down. We're going to help all law enforcement as ordinary people."

"Don't just come here for show and Facebook."

"You must come here because you understand the reasons for coming here."

"You must come here because you understand the biggest elephant, the biggest elephant in our township economy food chain is that it's the last thing they must loot."
