If any of them apply to your day-to-day life, it could be that your body is trying to warn you that you're not drinking nearly enough water.

Unless we’re intentional about the amount of water we drink, and we specifically keep tabs on our daily intake, we’re probably not drinking enough water. It’s estimated that three-fourths of all Americans are in a constant state of dehydration. Over the long-term that can cause serious health issues.

The National Academy of Medicine recently altered their recommendation for the amount of water an adult should consume per day. They now advise men to drink 15 cups (3.7 liters) and women to drink 11 cups (2.7 liters).

If you’re not getting that amount of water and you’ve got nagging health issues, it could be due to prolonged acute dehydration. So, go fill your glass with water and read these signs that you might be dehydrated.

1. You feel dehydrated
2. Discolored urine
3. Fatigue
4. Hypertension
5. Aching joints
6. Migraines
7. Digestive problems
8. Hunger pains
