Michigan Bank Fishing / Fishing Anchor Bay Lake St. Clair & St. Clair River Fishing / Perch, Pike +

In this fishing video we go fishing at lake Saint Clair and two locations on the Saint Clair River. We started off the day pier fishing at anchor Bay lake Saint Clair in Brandenburg Michigan. The mayfly hatch was in full force and we were forced to match the hatch in order to get the catch. We went with Muskie fishing in mind but I was quickly distracted by perch that were feeding on mayflies off the surface a Lake Saint Clair right at the end of the pier. Fishing Anchor Bay in Lake Saint Clair is a treat just for how beautiful it is but is also an opportunity for to catch many different types of fish right off the pier. This was my first time at this pier and my first time fishing in Anchor Bay. After a brief cool off in the air conditioning of the truck we relocated to Marysville Michigan to fish the St. Clair River. This was my first time ever fishing the St. Clair River. While fishing the Saint Clair River in Marysville Michigan we got into perch, gobies, bass, sheepshead, and Pike which made the trip.
It was pretty hot that day and we want to check out some more spots so we took off and went to Marine City Michigan to do some more Michigan bank fishing. Moving up river all the sudden we had a completely different experience of Saint Clair river fishing. In Marine City the Saint Clair River is deep and wide and blue with a strong current. We did not have the proper weights for keeping live baits down in the current but I quickly found a nice bit of structure that was holding a massive school of fish. I proceeded to catch loads of perch and rock bass in the spot. This particular location screamed Walleye fishing to me and I can’t wait to go back during prime Walleye season and fish that location sometime in the future!

Other than the sun burn it was a great day of Michigan fishing and we had good luck bank fishing lake St. Clair in anchor Bay as well as bank fishing the St. Clair River. It was fun to match the hatch for perch while we were fishing the Anchor Bay fishing pier and the Saint Clair river produced some excellent fish! This was also a great day of Michigan fishing for me because I got my first ever sheepshead! One of the things I love about fishing Michigan is trying to cross species off my list and drum one of those fish that people catch when targeting just about anything else so it’s silly that it took me so long to catch my first freshwater drum off my list of species I need to catch.
