God's Call To Judah For Repentance & Restoration Is. 60:4-12
• Is 60:4-7 What a blessed and soul-reviving thought that is conveyed about the flourishing of the Gentiles, amidst the gloomy prospect all around, of sin and sorrow. In the present miserable state of things, the kingdom of Jesus will grow. The promise is absolute: He shall see of the travail of his soul, and be satisfied. The riches of the oceans, sea-faring people, and the Gentiles will be converted to Israel (the Church) for use in the universal government of the Messiah and the universal missionary and restoration programs among all peoples. These will be freewill offerings to God.

• Is 60:8-9 This is a reference to the ships with their sails coming up over the horizon. The prediction concerns the regathering of Israel and of Gentiles and their coming in ships from the far ends of the earth. Can there be a more delightful thought, than that of souls flying to Christ, as doves, who by instinct take shelter in their houses? Mark what Jesus said, and do not overlook the glory of God as the end result in this scenario. Yes! Christ’s glory is his Father’s honour; and note that God the Father is glorified in his dear Son over every individual soul that is redeemed.

• Is. 60:10-12 How beautifully do we find the Redeemer’s glory and his Church’s happiness blended. Here the prosperity of the Church is particularly spoken of, but all with an eye to Christ. Jesus is evidently spoken of, agreeably to that prophecy, and the Lord himself confirmed the same truth in Luk 19:27 "But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me"
