Why "anti-vaxxer" is a deceptive term

The label "anti-vaxxers" has been used by numerous government and media figures to smear and demonise those who are skeptical of Covid-19 vaccines and the official narrative about the vaccines, as well those that reject the policy of mandatory vaccination implemented by governments around the world. When people prefer to throw labels at each other rather than exchange differing ideas, communication - and communities - break down. The pushing of the label as a derisive propaganda term has helped prevent honest and open conversations about vaccine mandates as a governmental response to the Covid-19 pandemic. Its use a form of public shaming had the chilling effect of dividing citizens against citizens, friends against friends, and family members against family members.
