Mechassault 2: Lone Wolf (2004) was published by Microsoft Game Studios and developed by Day 1 Studios

Mechassault 2 is a fun mech game that switches up a few things from the layout and groundwork laid by the original. Some of these changes are: Going on foot to open doors via minigame, Power armor, turret defense segments (Which are quite bad), and hacking via power armor interface while in combat! Other than the new changes the main core of the gameplay is easy to pick up, have fun with, and doesn't get old given you like mech games.

The graphics are a HUGE improvement over the first game, especially in the areas covering foliage and explosions but water is also pretty impressive. Controls are more or less on par with the first game with a few new functions mapped. Sound is still good. Explosions are satisfying and guns sound impactful while energy weapons buzz. Mission progression and pacing are both better and worse in some ways. Overall, the pacing is much better here, however, some of the missions that change things up are aggravating.

Overall, Mechassault 2 is a very fun game and a franchise I would like to see rebooted!

I will give my rating for the game once it is completed based off of my new and simple rating system. The game will get one of five ratings based solely on my experience while playing through it: Horrible (rare rating), Bad, Average, good, and Great (rare rating).
