It seems like everyone in production forgot about Claudia not only being a representation for Anne Rice's IRL daughter who died at age 5 but also that she is a character that is conflicted because she can't live by herself, she can't create other vampires and she's dependant of others. Armand says "we shouldn't create such a young vampire" BECAUSE he was created very young and Marius told him it wasn't ok to make him that young (but circumstances...)
I'm so sad. This series is going to be yet another disaster adaptation and will make QoTD look like a masterpiece in comparison.

They just ripped that character's spine right out of it. I guess they were trying to prevent any hypothetical correlation with grooming and child abuse and so they took such shitty decisions to prevent a possible outrage no one ever did in first place.
