Too Many Games? | How to solve the Backlog

I am perpetually feeling bad for the game I am dedicating time to.. there are so many amazing titles that currently exist.. And are constantly being put into existence.. That there is just not enough time to play them all.

Yet some games will consistently grab my attention for way longer than they should. They are time… vampires… despite buying so many giant open world triple A games I am always leaning back into the same titles.
And I'm definitely not the only one, there comes a point where your brain gives you an ultimatum.. You have to decide if it's worth playing the most pleasurable thing right now, or the thing that you SHOULD be playing, whether it's something you just bought or a recommend from a friend you've been putting off.. And the instant that question becomes part of the equation it's easy to think… why "not" the most pleasurable thing. Otherwise this'll just feel like a job. Yet.. I think it's very important to break through that initial discomfort.. Because.. It's so easy to miss out on lots of amazing.. weird games.. you just casually picked up for 3 cents on a steam sale.
In the middle of my Souls-like kick.. I fell really hard.. Into OMORI, it's cute characters, ominous undertones, and turn based battles.. were exactly the break I needed from the real-time.. Strategic battles of Elden Rings world. Had I not dug my feet in and decided to pierce through the mold of my routine.. I could've missed out on one of the most emotional experiences I've felt in a game.

I really think a lot of you will miss out on some amazing titles out there if you don't put some work into breaking a routine. So: Here's my recommended method!
