SERMON NOTES

At The Cross
John 10:11-18
'“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. But a hireling, he who is not the shepherd, one who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf catches the sheep and scatters them. The hireling flees because he is a hireling and does not care about the sheep. I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own. And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd. As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep. “Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father.”'

I. The Servants Heart Revealed
• Hello Friends! We are gathered here today for a joyous occasion.
• Now I know what you are saying, this doesn’t sound like what I normally hear on Good Frida!
• GOOD! This way you will pay close attention and not fall asleep.
• Jesus is preparing to go to the cross, and here He is dropping some dynamic truths that we should know.
• In (Isaiah 52:13-15 & 53:1-10) God tells Isaiah about the Savior and what would befall Him.
• But God also shares of what we all gain through His actions.
• Oh, How I Love Jesus & O How He Loves You & Me

II. The Old Rugged Cross (John 10:18)
• Yesterday, Jesus and His disciples would observe The Lord’s Supper. A special moment between them.
• But now we turn our attention to the star of the show…JESUS!
• Now I want to be honest with you, I really wanted to write the Cross, But God said NO!
• Here’s why! Expound on Roman Capital Punishment!
• Listen to (John 10:18) again!
• It has lost its power. I have been upstaged. It has become now the instrument of Restoration and Reconciliation. It is the bridge between us and God.

III. It is Finished
• Jesus while on the cross will read off all of the names of everyone that has ever lived, was living at that moment, and Would ever live.
• Once He has got them all, He says, “It Is Finished!”
• Romans 5:8, John 3:16, Rev. 3:20, The Power is in these verses!
• He finishes it all with these words, “Father into Your Hands, I commit My Spirit.”
• Jesus dies on the cross. But not because of anything the cross did, nothing that man did that day.
• But because He said so!.
