As this is Isaac Glover's first published march, he wanted to dedicate it to something important to him. The name "The Dauntless Battalion" was borrowed from a composition the greatest march composer named John Philip Sousa (1854-1932). The title of the composition was a good fit, in the composer's opinion, for the dedicatees: Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Lesnieski, Master Sergeant Monte Briggs, and the North Paulding High School junior Reserve Officer Training Corps of Cadets from 2019-21.
