Containing chapters 11 through 22, on Levity of Mind, Unseasonable Merriment, Boastfulness, Eccentricity, Conceit, Audacity, Defense of Wrong-Doing, Dishonest Confession, Rebellion, Freedom to Sin, and Habitual Sin.

Saint Bernard also adds his thoughts on the extent of which prayer may be offered for the spiritually dead.

It's a look from a monk's perspective on how to walk the path of the humble and gain control of their egotism. It teaches that a humble heart finds the path of truth, it's a lens to look through to observe one's flaws so that one may better correct them and come closer to the ultimate good.
