How can Turkey claim to be neutral and a 'friend' to all three parties - Russia, Ukraine, and NATO... it might be sitting on too many hot geopolitical pots at the same time? Is the question this Blindspot asks.

The scale of both the direct human impact of conflict in Ukraine, as well as its continued acidic fall-out in just about all aspects of global markets, calls for a steady eye to identify the blindspots hiding in plain sight. In the case of this delivery of Blindspot we look at three stories to highlight something intriguing regarding Turkish involvement in the conflict. We therefore take and analyse but one specific slice of the much larger WWIII elephant in the room.

Story 1 - Illustrates how, in 2021 already, news broke of Turkish drones being used against separatist forces opposed to the Kiev government. Let’s look at a clip from WION channel. Note also that Blindspot #009 covered Turkish actions in Africa, and how its drones are deployed against forces of General Haftar in eastern Libya.

Story 2 - From 4 February, 2022, when Erdogan visited Kiev trying to strike a pose as ideal mediator between the two countries.

Story 3 - From New Eastern Outlook raises disturbing questions regarding the role Turkey might be playing in facilitating the transfer of fighters from Syria, to back the Ukrainians.

How can Turkey claim to be neutral and a 'friend' to all three parties - Russia, Ukraine, and NATO... it might be sitting on too many hot geopolitical pots at the same time!
