I promise we’re doing our best // VLOG

We’re getting closer and closer to our dairy goats’ kidding season but some of these animals are really trying to make things difficult. Also, the workshop is finally starting to take shape after nearly two long years of complete dysfunction.

Let’s start with some of the good stuff. Violet is closing in on three weeks until her expected due date so we are really close to baby watch. Bonnie, our Savanna X Kiko doe, will also be kidding soon. Kidding season is always hectic and exciting; there are not many things in this world more adorable than a baby goat.

Annie Oakley and Benji, however, have not been able to make the magic happen yet. Annie is a first time freshener, meaning she’s never had a kid before, so she’s our least experienced doe. For whatever reason Benji has not been able to breed her to this point, and with our other does set to kid starting in about three more weeks our kidding window is not quite as tight as we hoped. So since Annie is coming back into heat she and Benji spent a few days alone together in the barn – minimal distractions so hopefully (fingers crossed) this is the time it takes.

Once we get done with the goats Ragon moves into the shop to show off some of the cleaning he’s been doing (you can tell, right?). Our friend Travis (Trav & J Outdoors on YouTube) found us a sheet of pegboard at the hardware store and brought it by. After nearly two years we’re finally starting to get a handle on the mess and dysfunction, opening the door for the opportunity to get more DIY-type projects done.
