Nikola Jokic Got Mad & THIS HAPPENED

With 3 minutes to go the Nuggets are down by 11. With their coach already thrown out of the game, and playing against a streaking Pelicans team, this looks like a loss.
Only thing is, it sure didn’t look that way to Nikola Jokic.
So let me show you what happens when you make the Joker mad. What up everybody, my name is Stefan and this is Heat Check. Let’s get into it.
The Serbian decided that he would go to the rim at all costs and he would not be stopped.
As they say, slowly but surely, this is literally the image for that.
On this drive, as he barrels in the paint, we see that there are 4 guys around him but none of them is able to do anything as Jokic lays it in and gets the foul.
He scored 30 points in the 4th quarter and overtime on 10 for 11 from the field and 9-9 from the free throw line. Look at his totals: 46 point triple double on 70% shooting. Wait what?! This is unstoppable.
And right here as the Pelicans throw a double team at him, look at how calm and composed he is. You can see that the double team has no effect on him whatsoever. Never in a rush, he sees the floor and eventually delivers the perfect pass to the cutting Gordon for the dunk.
Again in OT. Invites the double team, waits and waits to find the right moment for the bounce pass and look at how much room there is for Monte Morris to knock this down.
Aaand when you do that 2 or 3 times in a row, now the defense expects the same thing, so in this situation, check out how he catches the entire defense by surprise with this spin along the baseline, and you can see there’s nobody underneath so he just casually reverses this layup going 2 miles an hour. Amazing.
Dude almost won the game in regulation after that epic comeback btw.
First, down by 2 he gets fouled and has to make 2 free throws with the game on the line.
But look at his face, this is not a guy under pressure, he's actually bored.
So as he ties it up, New Orleans have to go the length of the floor here, they throw a long pass and Nikola intercepts it. In this scramble he finds Green under the basket who rushed this shot and this is how they got to overtime.
From that point on tho, Denver cruised to the win, led by their MVP.
Speaking of that however, the MVP race is closer than you may think. Even tho a bunch of people were quick to give it to Embiid already, check this out.
Joel basically only holds a 3.5 point per game lead over Jokic. Nikola on the other hand has 2.5 more rebounds per game, 3.5 more assists per game, and a mind blowing 57.1% from the field, by far the best out of the top 20 scorers in the NBA.
And yeah for those that keep looking at the standings and saying that team success matters.
Well, Philly is number 2 in the east but if you look at the actual record it’s only 1.5 game difference so this is essentially a wash. All of that while playing without Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. He is literally dragging this team to the playoffs by himself.
I’m not hating on Embiid, he’s been a monster, and I may still end up going with him at the end of the season. But that’s the point I’m trying to make. This is a close race and we’ll probably have to wait until the end of the season to crown a winner. Maybe it’s Joel, but maybe it’s Nikola or even Giannis.
But whatever happens, I have to emphasize again, we can not underestimate the level of play that Jokic has held throughout the entire season especially with the team that he has at the moment. And if you ask his teammates, this is what they would say:
Let me know in the comments if you knew that the 2 big men were this close statistically, and who is your pick for the MVP so far. That’s it for now, subscribe and talk to you in the next one. Peace out.
