Electrified vehicles are already a reality in the automotive market and are gaining more and more space in a sector that was previously dominated by combustion models. Gradually, Brazil is also becoming part of this scenario of transformation. And BYD Brasil puts the country on another level by presenting one of the most commercialized and most successful electric vehicles of the brand worldwide: the BYD Tan EV.

The model is the first SUV with seven seats 100% electric sold in Brazil. In other words, BYD will combine two consumer desires: the search for products that do not harm the environment with the fastest growing car category on national soil, the SUV segment. Currently, the BYD Tan EV is marketed in China and was also launched in Norway, a country that marks the company's entry into Europe. By the end of this year, 1500 units will be delivered to the Norwegian market.

BYD has extensive experience with electric vehicles. It has already produced more than 1 million units of this type of vehicle. The second generation of the BYD Tan EV will start to be imported from the first half of 2022.

BYD is one of the largest global manufacturers of batteries and electric vehicles. And, as it could not be otherwise, the battery is undoubtedly one of the protagonists of the BYD Tan EV model. For this version, BYD introduced the innovative 'Blade Battery' – thinner lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) cells with 800 amp power cells – and managed to redefine safety standards for the entire industry.

The BYD Blade Battery is designed to solve battery safety issues as it organizes single cells into an array and then inserts them into a battery pack, creating a highly efficient space compared to other lithium batteries. -iron-phosphate (LFP). This battery model underwent extensive development, which included nail and furnace testing. The great news is that none resulted in a fire or any kind of explosive response. In fact, the BYD battery reached an incredibly low temperature of 60 degrees Celsius after rigorous testing.

Equipped with an 86.4 kWh battery, the BYD TAN can be recharged from 30% to 80% in just 30 minutes at a continuous current of 110 kW. When it reaches 10 percent, an alert message appears on the dashboard for you to charge the car. This battery allows autonomy to cover distances of 437 km, according to PBEV data (INMETRO).

The BYD electric SUV incorporates all-wheel drive and is equipped with two electric motors, one on each axle (245 hp front engine and 272 hp rear engine), providing a combined power of 517 hp and maximum combined torque of 680 N.m. In this way, the Tan can reach a top speed of 180 km/h and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds.

The design of the new Tan EV is one of its main differentiators. In terms of style, BYD's international design team, led by renowned international designer Wolfgang Egger, former head of design at Audi, has combined European design flair with Eastern heritage to create a powerful, dynamic looking SUV. The BYD Tan EV SUV represents a new era of design for BYD, combining beauty, emotion and inspiration from nature. Every detail, whether internal or external, draws a lot of attention.

The model's exclusivity begins with the fact that it is the first all-electric seven-seat SUV sold in the Brazilian market. The model is 4.87m long, has a wheelbase of 2.82m, width is 1.95m and height is 1.72m. In other words, spacious and comfortable. This is just the first of many details.
