On February 6th, 2022 during the Freedom Convoy Protest police were called to an alleged arson attempt on an apartment in downtown Ottawa. On February 14, 2022 Trudeau Invoked the Emergencies Act. On March 21, 2022 Ottawa Police issued a statement confirming that there is no connection with the arson attempt and the Freedom Convoy.
