How to Stop Honey Locust From Spreading

It can be challenging to stop honey locusts from spreading. The horror stories are many. Forestry services recommend systemic herbicide. But there is a better solution.

Start with how you handle areas where honeylocust or black locust grow. Like in my videos and programs about removing bamboo permanently, you must get out all the roots to prevent spreading.

The benefits of this method are long-lasting fence posts and quality wood for making bows. Rather than locust shrubbery, you get tall, straight timber over time.

Never mow locust trees. They will spread fast. This method also works to establish a food forest and doesn't require much effort.
