This week, Morgan Zegers continues the conversation about common defense with Hamilton's Federalist Paper No. 25. The Anti-federalists feared the unlimited power a federal government would have with a standing army and instead felt that each state should provide for its own defense.

In this same subject continued, Hamilton resumes making a case for the Federalist view, expressing concern for the inner conflict that could occur if each state had an army, and the disproportionate burden on more geographically vulnerable states.

Join Morgan Zegers weekly on Freedom Papers for a conversation that focuses on the necessity of America's most important manuscripts and the debates surrounding them!
