A quick video of my brief walk thru the KU Art and Design Building, which has since been renamed Chalmers Hall. I spent many "all nighters" doing work on art project back in the 1980's, for Illustration, Photography, and Design classes. On any given night, Art & Design students would set up camp in a few of the art rooms down in the bottom floor, bringing snacks, tunes, smokes, art supplies and spend the evening and the way until morning. Trying to 'perfect' and complete their art projects that were either due the next day, or weeks out. Sporting a full afro, hippie dude Steve Bellinger would set up shop in a corner of one of the rooms. And every once in a while, bell-bottoms wearing Bellinger would emerge out of a cloud of cigarette smoke and loud King Crimson tunes blaring out his monster boombox. Gary Chan, on the other hand, preferred his "Beatles" tunes to be played non-stop.
And of course, who could ever forget the "busy-body" night janitor that would stop by on occasion and ask questions about your art project.

"Hey! Maybe you could use a little bit of purple or a blue in that area. Or maybe if you add some rough texture to that area. Hey, what do I know? I'm just a janitor!"

I'll never forget the night I was putting in another all nighter with Scott Davis, Ed Havel and a few others. And Ed got so frustrated working on a certain project, he picked up one of the desks, and threw it across the room. We then decided it was time for a beer break.
