To America I Love

To America I love, for which my ancestors fought in the war of your independence and for which countless others have since served and sacrificed to preserve and fulfill their beautiful dream of your freedom, this sincere expression is in honor of you and of the heroes of your liberty.

The bell is now for us to toll. Let freedom ring! Please share in that spirit to help reach and lift up fellow Americans. For that purpose, I wrote the music and created this video myself (read more in its description).

God bless America!

I created this presentation in loving memory of Rev. Kenneth R. Riden whose heartfelt expressions of love for America inspired me to write the music upon his request for a choral piece to accompany him in a 1987 bicentennial celebration for the United States Constitution. The large venue where he was to present was organized and sponsored by a major corporation but, suffice it to say, they ultimately cancelled the event in response to loathing of a movement that does not share such patriotic sentiment. His presentation with my song would have otherwise been part of a tribute hosted in an arena full of freedom-loving Americans.

Rev. Riden passed away in 2020. I sorely miss him and cherish precious memories of our times of fellowship. Yet, his heart for God and country endures in me.

In years leading up to his passing, he sometimes spoke with regret that the 1987 opportunity to bear his heart for America was cancelled. If my dear departed friend were still here, he would encourage us in the patriotic spirit of my song. He would rally us to hold fast to our heritage of freedom in these troubled times.

In 1739, my paternal ancestors fled persecution to find freedom in this land where they later fought in the American Revolution. Because of that great generation, many have since been born into freedom but also sacrificed for God and country to defend freedom. We owe much to them and certainly should stand up, be proud as Americans, and show the world how we can still be free in this nation founded and died for by those who made dreams of freedom come true for tired, poor, and huddled masses that yearned to breathe free.

The bell is now for us to toll. Let freedom ring!

God bless America!
