Adorable footage shows hungry baby otter suckling on handler's finger

This is the adorable moment a hungry baby otter mistakes its hander's finger for a teat after feeding - and suckles on it.

The otter, named May, had a good old chew on handler Joshua Holland's thumb and finger at the Wild At Heart Rescue in Vancleave, Mississippi, USA.

She is one of the rescue's litter of otter pups, and none of them can suckle on pacifiers as their growing teeth will chew straight through them.

The rescue posted the video of the suckling on their Facebook page where it now has over 46,000 likes.

The caption read: "Little May finding comfort on suckling my finger after eating.

"This is her signature move, she’s gotta have her time and it can’t be rushed. Those teeth are coming in nicely!

"She will be following suit with her eyes opening in the next few days right behind her brothers! Growing SOOOO fast!

"They’ve gained over 400 grams since they’ve been in rehab!"
