Black Earth Addendum: The Wrath of Spielberg - part 4

In this series of videos I cover popular media as forms of propaganda in the culture wars, specifically related to the timing of the release of such propaganda relative to the evolution of events. In the cases I describe here events have already headed in an undesirable direction sufficient to see where they are going and and so trigger the production of this material.

In the first part I cover Black Earth and relative to three films (Bridge of Spies, Spotlight and The Post), in the second the recent Netflix film Munich: The Edge of War, and in the third and fourth I cover a 1998 talk by "the leading neo-Nazi of his day" which starts with references to Spielberg's Amistad. And all of this ties in one way or another to what underlies the current war in Ukraine.

In the end, the Snyder and Pierce warnings are essentially the same, that honestly facing the nature of our state and institutions today could result in a real Holocaust. But not doing so could result in a true holocaust, humanity consumed in a nuclear firestorm.
