Designing and testing a Timber Frame King Post Truss

This is an overview of how to estimate if you have the materials available to build a specific design Timber frame truss. Note this tool uses the 2005 building code and I'm not an engineer. This is solely for the purpose of estimating can something be done with your species of wood and size available.

Please leave recommendations for updates to this video below as this is always a controversial topic. I glossed over the tool a bit and only focused on the top chord pass/fail. There is a lot of other information in this tool, such as the tension in the bottom chord which let's you know how much it must withstand on it's joint.
