Malcolm X was an African-American minister and human rights activist. Prominent in America during the civil right movement and a proud spokesman for the 'Nation of Islam' until 1964, promoting Islam within the black community and an a vocal advocate for black empowerment. He later became disillusioned with the nation of Islam publicly renouncing them but founded the Islamic Muslim mosque and the Pan-African organisation of African american unity. Celebrated for his pursuit of racial justice.

He developed an appetite for reading when serving a prison sentence and many of his quotes emphasise the power and knowledge gained through reading and educating oneself.

This is a collection of some of his memorable quotes.
