At its core, COVID-19 is a humanitarian crisis. Everybody has experienced this pandemic in our unique ways––we might be in different boats, but we are all in the same storm. Hearing each other’s stories and lived experiences is paramount to kindling empathy and treating those around us with kindness and compassion.

This is what motivated Atharv to cofound “Different Boat, Same Storm,” a platform where guests talk about the innovations & adaptations this pandemic has brought forth in their lives, what brings them joy in these uncertain times, and what their light at the end of this tunnel is. Atharv Agrawal is a 3rd-year Lester B. Pearson International Scholar at the University of Toronto. He is also the cofounder of “Different Boat, Same Storm.” This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
