Obesity is a serious disease that has many negative effects on our bodies

Obesity is defined by the World Health Organization (WHO) as "abnormal or excessive fat accumulation that presents a risk to health". It is also known as overweight or being overweight. The WHO estimates that 1 in 3 adults worldwide is obese.

The Causes of Obesity

There are several reasons why people become obese. One reason is genetics. If both parents are obese, there is an increased chance that their children will be too. Another reason is lack of exercise. People who do not exercise enough tend to gain weight because their bodies use up calories faster than they burn them off.
