Christianity's greatest problem? Prosperity

Many of us would like God to answer all of our prayers, relieve our suffering, and give us the desires of our hearts. Those things are good, and we should ask for them, but history tells us that comfort and prosperity do not bring us closer to God. It is almost always in our suffering, vulnerability, and even persecution that the church and Christianity on a whole thrive as we rely on our magnificent Creator.
