Slovakia sends S-300 air defence system to Ukraine

SLOVAKIA has sent S-300 air defence systems to Ukraine to bolster the armed forces defences against Russia.

Slovakia’s prime minister on Friday confirmed that his country has provided an S-300 air defence system to Ukraine against Russia's aggression. Eduard Heger said: "I would like to confirm that Slovakia has provided Ukraine with an air-defense system S-300. Ukrainian nation is bravely defending its sovereign country,"

At least 1,626 civilians have been killed and 2,267 injured in Ukraine, according to UN estimates, with the true figure feared to be far higher.

More than 4.3 million Ukrainians have fled to other countries, with millions more internally displaced, according to the UN refugee agency.
