Video features a pleasant walk along the park of Oršić Castle in Gornja Stubica, Croatia. This beautiful baroque building was once owned by noble Oršić family and today it is the home of The Peasant Revolt Museum dedicated to one of the best-loved figures in Croatian history, a local peasant hero Matija Gubec. In the 16th century the district of Stubica was the site of the great Croatian and Slovenian peasant revolt against the feudal system that was predominant in Europe at the time. The most renowned leader of the revolt was a local peasant Matija Gubec. As the revolt threatened to destabilize a large region, feudal armies reacted with brutal speed and Matija's cause was defeated in the end. His legacy, however, was preserved in local folklore and history through the centuries. Just below the castle's park stands a tall monument to Matija Gubec, with two symmetrical wings raising behind it, portraying over three hundred characters. On one side there are scenes from the Battle of Stubica - people, horses and clash of the aristocratic army and rebellious peasants, while on the other side there is a panorama of daily life at that time. At the bottom of the right wing there is a life-size character of Petrica Kerempuh, a well-known fictional cynical bard telling tales of events long gone never to be forgotten.
