Chernobyl workers on securing site amid Russian occupation

Workers at the Chernobyl district recounted on Thursday (April 7) the Russian invasion of the area. Russian forces occupied the defunct power station north of Kyiv soon after invading Ukraine on February 24. Ukraine's state nuclear energy company, Energoatom, said they left the plant on March 31 and were heading towards the border with Belarus.
