Dr. Karl Ulrich Volz received his dental degree in Ulm, Germany. He is founder and
former President of the International Society of Metal-Free Implantology (ISMI), and founder of
the dental clinics Bodensee Zahnklinik and Tagesklinik Konstanz. In 2001, he developed the first
market-ready ceramic implant, and he also developed all of  SDS Swiss Dental Solutions ’ implant
designs for a wide range of indications. He currently leads the biological dentistry department in
the  Swiss Biohealth Clinic  in Kreuzlingen, Switzerland. Dr. Volz has performed over 20,000
implantations using ceramic implants.
