One thing to always think about is maintaining your training at the conclusion of training. Every day is training, every day is an opportunity, every day is life and life is the best training opportunity. Always ask yourself why the dog is amazing for the trainer and totally disregards you as the owner. There is no such thing as rebooting a dog, starting over, "fixing" the dog, etc; UNLESS you are willing to change everything about yourself, your household, your kids, the dynamics that are truly influencing the dog to begin with. Your dog trainer did not sell you the dog, raise the dog, select the dog, breed the dog, and does not live with you every second of the day. Years of influence by you will always out weigh a few weeks of professional training if the training is not reinforced daily. Training, structure, routine, stable household, holding your kids accountable as much as you hold your dog accountable, engagement, exercise, are all needed daily to create a proper human/dog relationship.

You have to hold the dog accountable, correct unwanted behavior, reward and reinforce desirable behavior, and truly set your dog up for success by manipulating your environment and changing the way you interact with the dog. Remember - everything you did prior to training is what created the necessity for professional training. So you have to be willing to change the way you were living with your dog prior to training.
