He was shot in the face, allegedly took on a pack of ten dogs who were going to attack a neighboring youngster, he was shooed away from everyone's property, and for the next two years, he has carried a 3.5lb tumor around on his face. Neighbors attempted to take him to the vet at one point, but Bear leaped out of the truck and nearly hung himself in the process.
Bear was dying with a PCV of 6% when we found him. He was anemic and fighting infection from his mass, and if he hadn't been saved that day, he would have perished within a day or two. It's strange how things turn out that way.
Bear is presently undergoing chemo for two types of cancer, but he's a joyful guy, and we're making the most of every day we have with him. It's been a privilege to save him, as well as to get to know and love him. ❤️
