Attraction/Temptation/Action/Sin - Righteousness by Faith (8/13)
The first lesson in overcoming sin we need to learn is that, unless the victory is accomplished through the Spirit, it is neither permanent nor long-lasting. The problem, you see, is our carnal nature. And if you’ve ever tried to correct a flaw in your own character, you must admit it can’t be accomplished by the exercise of willpower. Willpower is useful and can do much (for 30 days), but it won’t produce a pure heart.
Until you’re willing to pray, “Lord you've got to change my nature because that's where the problem rests. You've got to help me see sin for what it really is rather then rationalize it's just a moment of pleasure. Help me to have the attitude you want me to have.” When we can earnestly pray for this attitude, then, by the power of the Spirit, not by the power of self, those around us begin to see us as a brand new person. It is the spirit that changes us from within.
Now, I'm not saying that the Holy Spirit changes everything at once; this is just one test. There’ll be more transformation to come, hopefully! The valuable lesson about this whole process and what God wants to reveal to us is, it’s HIS power to do the impossible, not ours that makes the change permanent.

Legalism vs Walking by Faith - Righteousness by Faith (7/13)
Paul says a man is justified by faith apart from observing the law. James says a person is justified but what he does and not by faith alone. How are we to understand this apparent conflict? If you are proof text oriented, you can make one text fight against the other; but actually there's a very clear harmony between the two texts when we look beneath the surface and understand that living by faith is an experience, not a one-time event.
The Holy Spirit should be working on our hearts right now, prompting and nagging us about something in our lives that need changing. The nagging is the Spirit bringing guilt in an effort to propel us to resolve it—to make things right with God and those we’ve wronged. Do you hear anything? Are you listening? Or are you cramming so much busyness into your life that the Spirit is muted?
After watching this segment of Righteousness by Faith, you’ll clearly see the harmony between what Paul and James were saying; and you’ll understand how to respond to that spiritual nagging and find a peace in your life that only the Lord can produce!

Two Distinct Types of Righteousness - Righteousness by Faith (2/13)
Every Christian should know that in order to be saved from the penalty of sin, we have to be clothed with a righteousness that comes only from God. This righteousness does not come from obedience. Rather, Jesus grants this righteousness to us when we become willing to love God with all our heart, mind and soul and our neighbor as our self. True love for God and others fulfills the demands of the law.
The Holy Spirit wants us to look often into the perfect law of God to see how pure love for God and man is expressed. Yes, every born again person knows the problem with sin. We can't fulfill the intent of the law all of the time.
Paul wrote in Rom 7:15, “I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.”
In other words, born again Christians have two natures that war against each other. Sometimes the carnal nature wins. This happened in king David's case. Sometimes, the spiritual nature wins. Born again Christians understand this warfare. This is why the seal of God is so wonderful.
God's children will be tested to see if they really want their selfish carnal nature removed. When they pass their test, Jesus will fulfill their desire.
The first angel's message demands that we give glory to Jesus. What does this mean? We bring glory to Jesus by exalting the eternal principle of love that He lives by. This is a beautiful point. God is pleased when we keep His law and God is overjoyed when we fulfill the intent of His law through selfless love.
This is the meaning of "Give glory to Him..."

Who was Melchizedek? 2 - Book of Hebrews (08/14)
Many Christians cannot explain from the Bible why sinners need a High Priest in Heaven. Non-Christians do not understand why Christians insist on the need for an intercessor or mediator. If God loves everyone, why does God need "a go-between”? The answer to this question lies within the concept called "Christ's judgment seat.” Long ago the Father appointed a time when Jesus would judge mankind. The Old and New Testaments reveal that judgment requires a High Priest. His job is the assignment of guilt. Consider this as you listen to this segment of the seminar.

Who was Melchizedek? 1 - Book of Hebrews (07/14)
What is the importance of the Father appointed Jesus to serve as High Priest in the order of Melchizedek? What made animal sacrifices, temple services and the observances of feasts obsolete? What is the theological significance of the destruction of the temple in A.D. 70? Why is there a new Jerusalem, new Mt. Zion, and new covenant?

The Deity of Jesus 2 - Book of Hebrews (06/14)
The nature of the Trinity is an interesting and important topic. When it comes to the book Hebrews, Paul affirms that Jesus is a separate, distinct, co-eternal member of the Godhead. Jesus is not the Father and the Father is not the Son. Both of them are Almighty Gods (as is also the Holy Spirit) who have submitted their rights and prerogatives to one another in order to appear before their offspring as one God. Paul uses this topic in the book of Hebrews to assure early Jewish converts to Christ that (a) the Father approves their conversion and (b) the Father not only approves the worship of Jesus, He requires it.

Living in the Last Days - Righteousness by Faith (13/13)
The choice to walk by faith will be critical during the last days of Earth's history. The Bible predicts the devil will appear claiming to be God at various locations around the Earth. This could deceive the very elect. God sees man's suffering and heartache and His patience is wearing thin. His wrath and judgments will be apparent in the seven trumpets and seven bowls. God has sealed the book of Daniel until the final generation needs the blueprint of prophecy to understand the prophetic events of Revelation. God will reveal that each of the seven religious systems in the world are false. God will give the Holy Spirit and support a body of people that will take a stand and follow the Spirit. The removal of the religious systems will create a new group of people who love truth. These people who hold to the Word of God and the testimony of Jesus may die for their belief. God will allow people to die for the cause of Christ, but He knows how many martyrs that will allow the greatest number of people to be saved.
Living by faith means that whatever God has in mind for me is OK. Righteousness by faith is all about the spiritual, mental, and physical struggle because that is what it means to be touched by Jesus.

The Deity of Jesus 1 - Book of Hebrews (05/14)
The book of Hebrews was written to Hebrew converts who were wavering with their decision to follow Christ. The Apostle Paul puts five distinct Old Testament doctrines before these converts showing why Judaism has become an inferior and incomplete religious system because of Christ. In this study, we will examine the deity of Jesus from Hebrews 1. Paul proves from the Old Testament that the Jewish view of monotheism was errant, and has been proven inferior and incomplete by the fulfillment of prophecy!

God's Test - Choosing to Survive or Living by Faith - Righteousness by Faith (12/13)
Through His covenant with Abraham, God has promised the land and eternal life to all of Abraham's offspring. This promise extends to all those who will live by faith. The Holy Spirit guides us into a life lived by faith. God has promised to pour His Spirit on all people. His servants will be scattered throughout the world with a common thread that they have chosen to live by faith. They will be part of every religious system and the Holy Spirit will lead them to proclaim the first angel's message.
Because of the disastrous events on Earth, the religions of the word, in conjunction with the political powers, will establish religious laws attempting to appease God. God's servants will be proclaiming that people should worship God and this will be in opposition to the world's laws. People will be unable to get to Heaven through works and legalism. Living by faith is the only way that a person will be saved.

7 Trumpets / Who will Live by Faith - Righteousness by Faith (10/13)
John describes four angels standing on the four corners of the earth. The ancients believed that the earth was flat and demons lived beneath the earth. The four angels were holding back the four winds until a seal was placed on the servants the prophets. After these servants (the 144,000) were sealed, then the four winds were released and the Great Tribulation begins. The Bible distinguishes between the 144,000 and the great multitude surrounding God's throne.
The mystery of God is that anybody can be saved if he or she is willing to live by faith. There will be disasters on earth during the first four trumpets. Like the trumpets between the Feast of Trumpets and the Day of Atonement, the trumpets provided a warning that mercy was about to end.
God will pour out His Spirit on the 144,000 servants first - this is the reason they are called first fruits. God will give them, along with those who choose to live by faith during the Great Tribulation, an incomparable gift. He will remove their carnal nature so they will no longer have a need for an intercessor. What a wonderful event!

Holy Spirit's Nagging / Two Natures - Righteousness by Faith (9/13)
The Bible says, if you are in Christ Jesus then you are Abraham's seed and an heir according to the promise. Why would any Christian today want to be an heir of Abraham? What God promised Abraham was not just a little sliver of land in the eastern part the globe— that wasn't what God had in mind at all. God was not looking to just create one tiny nation and put a few million people in it. There’s more to the story than you may have considered before!
In Romans 7 Paul says, the things I don’t want to do, I do; but the things that I want to do, I don't! Paul realized that when a person is born again he acquires a new nature, and this spiritual nature wars against the carnal nature we’re born with.
Later on, Paul makes an interesting statement that I didn't understand for many years; he says, whatever is not of faith is sin. What does that mean? I think there's a simple explanation now that I understand something about righteousness by faith. Here is what it means: if whatever you do is not motivated out of the Spirit-lead faith experience—it’s garbage. Paul is saying, if what you do isn’t motivated by a faith experience, it’s useless!

Living by Faith is an Experience, Not a Doctrine - Righteousness by Faith (6/13)
God gave Israel at Mt. Sinai a covenant that if Israel obeyed Him, He would make them a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. However, God demonstrated with Israel that when His people fail, He starts over with a remnant. This is a never ending cycle. Righteousness by faith is not a doctrine, it is an experience. Living by faith is the most difficult experience known to the human race. It is impossible for the carnal heart to live by faith. Revelation 1:6 says that God has made us to be a kingdom and priests. In fact, James sent his epistle to the twelve tribes of Israel scattered throughout the nations. This includes everyone who has chosen to live by faith.
God requires a life for a life and the cities of refuge illustrate God's plans for creating judicial equilibrium. The ten commandments are a covenant between God and His people. This is why the two tablets of stone were stored in the Ark of the Covenant. If the Holy Spirit is leading you, God will lead you into an experience of faith and guide you into all truth.

Putting on A.D. 64 Sandals 1 - Book of Hebrews (03/14)
Many Christians open the Bible to read without realizing the timely context of the conversations given in Scripture. "Who said unto whom and under what circumstances" is most important, if the student wants to understand God's Word. If we wear the sandals of early converts to Christianity, we can better appreciate their struggle to maintain faith in God. This seminar segment looks at some of the obstacles facing Hebrew converts when the book of Hebrews was written. Ishmael and Isaac / Covenants in the Bible - Righteousness by Faith (5/13)
God established two covenants with Abraham; a unilateral and a bilateral covenant. A unilateral covenant is one that God issues without consent from the other party, for example, the Ten Commandments. (Interestingly, this is the reason why the box holding the Ten Commandments was called the "Ark of the Covenant.") A bilateral covenant requires the consent of two parties.
God made a unilateral covenant with Abraham - "I will make you into a great nation" and a bilateral covenant - the sign of circumcision.
Another type of covenant in the Bible is the blood covenant. This covenant requires the death of one of the parties to the covenant to terminate it. This is the most serious covenant type. Be sure to visit our website at https://www.wake-up.org

God's Promise to Abraham - Righteousness by Faith (4/13)
God's ways are best, not because He says so, but because He has demonstrated with His power, love, humility, and suffering that His ways are right. In the days of the Tower of Babel, God separated the land into continents and scattered the people. Also, they spoke different languages so the people were divided.
About the same time, Abraham, through faith chose to follow God's call and go to a land which the Lord was to give him. During the last days, people will need to have faith so they can take a stand for God.
Anyone can be an offspring of Abraham if he or she receives Christ and walks by faith. Abraham's seed will receive the blessings that God promised Abraham. God will give salvation to those who walk in faith and are part of the great multitude He has gathered after the second coming.

Imputed / Imparted / Sealed - Righteousness by Faith (3/13)
The Bible says there is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor male or female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. (Galatians 3:28-29) This promise indicates that if we are in Christ, we are heirs to all that God promised Abraham. So, there cannot be an eschatology where one series of events occur for Christians and another for Jews. Many people say there was no law before the Ten Commandments. However, the fact that sin existed prior to the Ten Commandments proves that there was law in place before the Ten Commandments. Before Adam and Eve sinned, they had a propensity toward righteousness and God's law was written on their hearts. After their fall, they became attracted toward evil. In Earth's last days, Christ will put His laws in the minds and write them on the hearts of the people He has sealed. Today, Christ will impute His righteousness to us if we accept Him and live by faith.

Hell Burns Only Long Enough To Achieve Restitution. That’s Justice! - Revelation Study (104 of 105)
End of Millennium Part 3 - Revelation 21 & 22 - Revelation Study
But you have to understand, God’s sense of justice can't burn someone for eternity because that would not be fair. Justice means restoring what was wrongly done with what is equitable. God is going to allow the victims of crime, during the thousand years, to determine what appropriate punishment is according to the law. The golden rule means, as you did unto others, the same will be done to you. This is the Justice of God, perfect justice, judicial equilibrium.
The universe will be made clean once again after justice has been fully met, but first, justice has to be served. So God achieves justice with a suffering in the lake of fire. Then he achieves the second death with this same fire. It’s two-for-one.
I want to spend a few moments talking about the second death. The reason these things are important is, if you don't understand what's going on and why, it all turns into a bunch of events that really are totally meaningless.

If The Penalty For Sin Is Burning Forever, Did Jesus Pay The Price? - Revelation Study (103 of 105)
End of Millennium Part 2 - Revelation 21 & 22 - Revelation Study
Reason militates against the doctrine of an eternally burning hell. Think about this for a minute. Most Christians believe that Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins, but if the penalty for sin is burning in hell throughout eternity, then Jesus did not pay the price for sin. If the penalty for sin is burning in hell throughout eternity, how could Jesus pay the price without burning in hell forever and ever and ever for eternity?
The answer is, Jesus never paid the price if the price is burning in hell for eternity. Even if you believe that Jesus burned in hell for three days and three nights, that is not eternity! Even after billions and billions of years, eternity has just begun, so how does three days and three nights atone for billions and billions and billions of years of all eternity? It doesn't! That’s not life for life, death for death, or eternity for eternity.
The fact that Jesus did not burn in hell at all should cause every person, believing in eternal hell, to reconsider his theology. In order to pay for our sins the penalty for sin had to be imposed upon Jesus and it was. The problem is that most people don't understand what the penalty for sin is. The penalty for sin is death by execution without any hope of Resurrection. That, my friends, is the penalty for sin: death by execution without hope of Resurrection!

What Will The Saints Be Doing For 1000 Years After Jesus Returns? - Revelation Study (101 of 105)
The Millennium Part 3 - Revelation 20 - Revelation Study
In God's order of vengeance and justice, Jesus wants the saints to sit in judgment of the wicked to determine the amount of restitution that each victim is due. Many martyrs will suffer very violent deaths, very painful deaths, because the people who killed them will be demon controlled. And because each of these martyrs have had this experience, they are permitted (and required) to express the amount of pain and anguish that the wicked perpetrator of the crime must suffer in return.
God is going to see that the wicked will receive justice. Justice in God's economy is not like that of man’s justice. In God's economy, you must receive the same as you gave. Paying for the pain you caused is justified. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you, really means, whatever you do to others will be the same done to you. This concept of God's vengeance isn't talked about very often.
The record and activity of every demonic angel will be brought up for judgment because they're going to perish too. All the harm that every angel in Lucifer's government has brought about is going to suffer in direct proportion to the amount of grief and pain that he produced. The saints are going to reign with Christ in deciding what amount of restitution must be extracted from the wicked. That, my friends, is God's vengeance.

The Great Whore Will Kill One-Third Of Mankind...It’s God's Will? - Revelation Study (97 of 105)
4th Angel and 2nd Coming Part 2 - Revelation 18 & 19 - Revelation Study
God says, “If anyone during the Great Tribulation is to go into captivity, into captivity he will go. And if anyone is to be killed with the sword, with the sword he will be killed. That’s what's going to happen to you. I've already decided what my purpose for you is, so this calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on your part, on the part of the saints”. it is the will of God that some will go into captivity, that some will be killed, and that a few will be translated without seeing death, but whatever God's will is, let God's will be done. That is the prayer we must learn to pray by living by faith now.
We know that the prostitute will kill prophets and saints. We know that a third of mankind will be killed when the prostitute is established. It’s God's will. So we have to understand now that when a martyr’s faith is required, a martyr's faith will be given. God will see to it! Our normal fear of death will be displaced with a peace that passes understanding! God will give his Saints holy boldness if they will submit their lives to his will now.
Lucifer's government is called the great prostitute because everyone who attempts to save his life, through compromise or submission, show that he loves his life more than he loves God. Let me explain something: each unsealed person will be forced to choose whether he will participate in the great prostitute for survival while the fourth angel's message is being shouted throughout the earth; so the wicked will be forced to choose whether he will participate in the great prostitute in order to survive. This testing time reveals an important fact: those who submit their hearts to God's last call will be empowered to face death without fear.

Great Prostitute Is A Symbolic Term Because She Is Also A Great City - Revelation Study (94 of 105)
The Great Prostitute Part 2 - Revelation 17:1-18 - Revelation Study
Lucifer will abolish all the nations of the world and divide the world into 10 geographical sectors. I think these geographical sectors will be determined by geographical boundaries such as oceans and deserts, and he will appoint ten puppet kings that will rule under him. These ten kings are the 10 toes in Daniel 2 and the 10 horns on the composite beast.
Lucifer's theocratic government is called the great prostitute because people will sell their souls to the devil for the sake of rations of food, clothing, and money for survival. The government is called a prostitute because prostitutes are willing to exchange their moral integrity for material or financial gain. This is why prostitution is an abomination to God; because God values moral integrity more than any other material thing. Remember, in heaven the streets of heaven are paved with gold because, there, gold is worthless.
Let me say this again: prostitution is an abomination to God because God values moral integrity more than material or financial gain; so those who sell-out to the devil for food and water are an abomination to God. That’s why Lucifer's theocratic government is called the great whore; it’s a great prostitute of disgusting abomination.

We Are Born Saved & Become Lost By Choice At An Age Of Accountability - Revelation Study (91 of 105)
Seven Plagues Part 3 - Revelation 15:7-21 - Revelation Study
An understanding of the character of God can only be realized within the harmony that comes from the sum of all its parts. This collage tells us what God isn't like and what he's all about. If we just focus on the fact that god is love in the sense of his compassion, we don't have a clear and comprehensive picture of what he is as a whole. For example: many people have said to me “You know, in the Old Testament, sometimes God would tell Israel to go out and destroy a nation—man, woman, and children. Oh, what a horrible god! How could he destroy helpless, innocent children? And he would tell the Israelites to go out there and slaughter them all! How horrible! What kind of a god is that?” Ever heard those kinds of discussions?
I just turn to them and say “Well, haven't you read about Noah's Flood? Yes! Well, has it ever dawned on you that there were children drowned in Noah's day? God drowned men, women, and children. Why? They were drowned because they refused to get on the ark. Well why kill the children, they're not responsible?” I say, “Well, don't feel bad, God is very merciful and generous and he knows who is responsible”.
And when the final judgment is rendered for purposes of eternal life, God will judge accordingly. He’s a loving God. And children who perish, whether in war or in hospital beds or in Noah's Flood, will be judged most fairly. It's my personal conviction that all children are born saved and not lost. We don't become lost until we start choosing rebellion and become accountable at an age of accountability. That age is different for different people. I believe, in God's great generosity and mercy that Jesus paid the price for all God’s children, and that includes ALL children.
