Tribute to Tupi Wild Stallion of McCullough Peaks in Wyoming by Karen King
This video pays tribute to the wild stallion, Tupi who died at the early age of ten from an injury he received. He was a beautiful, tri-colored stallion who stayed close to his natal band run by Talequah and his lieutenant stallion Thor. Many times he got in a scuffle with Thor, but they mostly got along with each other .Tupi would help out on occasion to keep the mares safe by running off a stray stallion.
We will miss you at the peaks Tupi. RUN FREE FOREVER!!!!!!

Tribute to Brave Wild Stallion of Sand Wash Basin in Colorado by Karen King
This was filmed in spring of 2018 on my first visit to Sand Wash Basin. It is a tribute to Brave who lost his life recently to the harsh 2023 winter. As an aged stallion, the winter was just too much for him. I'm glad he was able to live out his life being wild and free.
The stallion Chief had recently lost his mares to Brave along with the dun stallion Schatzi and bay stallion with a wide blaze, Hawk.
We will miss you Brave! Run free forever!

Along with my videos I also take photos of the wild horses. Here you will see the photos I captured as you listen to all the sounds of a real life wild horse herd in Wyoming, USA. The sounds, the backdrops and beauty of the wild horse makes it a mesmerizing place to be. Wyoming is trying to eradicate all the wild horses to make more room for cattle and sheep grazing. They don't realize the treasure they have.

Salt Wells Creek Wild Horses in Wyoming Ep 18 Wild Wonders of America
How do you find wild horses on a million acres of public land? Very carefully with help from other wild horse advocates who know where to find them. With the roundup last year of most of the wild horses, it is even more difficult to find them. The horses were rounded up to make room for more cattle grazing.

Wild Horses of Sand Wash Basin in Colorado Episode 20 Wild Wonders of America by Karen King
*attn: I made a mistake on the paint horse Fleck who is with Bobby. I said it was a stallion, but she is definitely a mare. I apologize for the mistake.
This video shows my visit to the Sand Wash Basin in Colorado in June of 2022. With all the snow melt and rain this spring the basin has plenty of water for the horses and wildlife this spring. After the Sept. 2021 helicopter roundup of over 650 horses, it's not easy finding horses on the 155,000 acres. See a newborn foal just a few days old and watch the horses as they come into Copper Springs for a drink. The biting bugs were so bad and made it difficult to get the footage.

Watch the dynamics between the bachelor stallions, mares, foals and band stallions in the big herd of 200 wild horses. These larger herds are fast becoming a thing of the past in the western states to make room for more cattle and sheep grazing. We must be a voice for the wild horse if they are to remain free.

Wild Horses of Wyoming Episode 17 of Wild Wonders of America by Karen King
I was recently able to spend several weeks at the McCullough Peaks HMA in Wyoming to view the wild horses there. Such a beautiful herd with all the beautiful solids and paint colors! These wild horses live free the way they were meant to be. There was always some kind of acton going on between the band stallions and the bachelor stallions. Also, a new little colt was born to Siska's band! Watch how the band stallion defends his band and chases off the bachelor stallions. See how the wild horses live in the harsh climate and terrain of Wyoming and thrive.

This leg of my journey takes you from the wild horses in the Pryor mountains of Wyoming, to the McCullough Peaks and on to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons in Wyoming.
