How Ukrainian sea drones work - and why they terrify the Russian fleet | Defence in Depth
War is an inherently human business. Much of it takes place in the mind. Shatter your enemy’s will to fight and the physical bit becomes a lot easier.
Most soldiers accept the hurly burly of the battlefield. They understand the risks and have reconciled themselves to the possibility of death or injury by bullets, artillery and such like with grim pragmatism. But unseen killers - chemical weapons, booby traps, weapons that don’t play by the Queensberry rules of warfare - these eat away at a soldier’s psychological strength.
Loitering munitions in the air or at sea fit into this category of weapon. They’re deadly, but pretty cheap and basic, so easy to produce in large numbers, and able to attack psychological defences just as much as physical ones.
Ukraine’s innovation of maritime drone technology hasn’t fundamentally changed the nature of warfare at sea, but has shown how the psychological dimension can be employed here too.

Ukraine troops storm Russian trenches with heavy gunfire and grenades
Ukrainian troops dodged Russian artillery during an attack near Bakhmut. Soldiers of the 3rd Assault Battalion led the charge in Klishchiivka. As they ran towards Russian positions artillery shells began falling on them. But they continued the attack and were able to reach the trenches. Kyiv’s men then used grenades and rifles to clear the Russians out. The footage is thought to have been recorded back in July. At the time, Ukraine was fighting for control of high ground near Bakhmut. They are now thought to have taken control of the area. That puts their artillery in range of the city, making life hard for Russia. Ukraine is trying to surround Bakhmut after Wagner withdrew from the city.

Russian assault backfires after Ukrainian drone takes out enemy speedboat
A Russian amphibious assault failed after being hit by a drone. Putin’s men tried attacking Ukraine across the Dnipro River. They used a small speedboat in echoes of Ukrainian attacks. But they were thwarted by a first-person view, or FPV, drone. The tiny aircraft, strapped with an explosive, chased the boat down. A second camera drone captured the moment it hit the boat. It successfully exploded, leaving the craft dead in the water. Ukraine is conducting raids across the Dnipro River, in the south. They are drawing men away from defences on the southern front. Russia is sensitive to attacks in the area because it leads to Crimea.

Ukraine war: 'He's got something on Putin'
According to military analyst Sean Bell, the president of Belarus has become "emboldened" by the presence of the Wagner Group.
Alexander Lukashenko has been "provoking" Poland by telling them "he's holding them [Wagner] back from attacking Polish soil", said Sean Bell.
This has enhanced the West's concern about the "grave risk" of escalating the war, leading Poland to move up to 10,000 extra troops to the border with Belarus.

Tsar Bomba | Will Putin Use The World’s Largest Nuclear Bomb If The Ukraine Russia War Escalates?
Thirty years after the end of the Cold War, the United States and Russia are yet again standing face to face over Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin, who has renewed nuclear threat to the West, possesses the biggest weapon ever made, the world’s largest ever nuclear device – the Tsar Bomba or "the Emperor of Bombs".
On October 30, 1961, at the peak of the Cold War, Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev sent an unmistakable warning to the West by testing the most powerful weapon mankind had ever seen. The Tsar Bomba was 2000 times more powerful than the American bomb dropped on Nagasaki and 10 times the total firepower used in the entire Second World War.
Can the course of the war in Ukraine today force Russia to resort to its deadly nuclear weapons? Will Putin use the world’s largest nuclear bomb if tensions with the West over Ukraine escalate?
