Senators have a duty to end Nebraska's circle of corruption. WILL THEY?
This was from a conversation I had with Governor Ricketts at a Voter ID town hall in Nebraska City in July. Usually, in order to get any answers from elected officials in our state, I have to show up to events at which politicians are scheduled to speak and speak to them there. They assume that if they ignore our calls and emails--or send a canned response that is never an answer to any questions that are asked of them--that Nebraskans will just give up and move on. But we shouldn't.
These elected officials work for us. They asked for the job of being public servants to the people, and it is the job of the people to provide oversight of those who work for us. We should know better than to trust that they are doing what they should without being checked in on. Employers who oversee productive work environments know that when employees are not being held accountable for the work they are expected to do, they will slack off and fall behind. The BEST that can be said about those who are representing us in government right now is that they just got lazy. Other explanations for why they have failed to provide proper representation to the people and protection of our rights point to deliberate corruption.
Our senators in the Unicameral have an opportunity right now to try to make amends for having slacked on the job. Any who do so in earnest should be forgiven, but no bull-shit half measures should be met with any praise! Clever employees will try to fool you into thinking that they are on the job when they are not. Words mean nothing without MEANINGFUL action, and if our senators continue to provide cover for the corruption which has taken place in our government, then they should ALL be held accountable as complicit.
This isn't going away, and the facts are not going to change. The facts point to inaccuracies, inconsistencies, and untruths coming from the office of the Secretary of State. The facts draw a clear delineation of right and wrong, and history will record which side of that line our senators choose to take.
They know better. Accept no excuses.

Will Republicans demand accountability or will they reward corruption?
Conservative groups talk a good game about government overreach and about being on the side of the people. What Governor Ricketts did when he used the authority of his office as governor (and his official .gov website!) to proclaim a person guilty (complete with chastisements and insults) was most definitely an example of government overreach.
Will the NEGOP and conservative groups across the state of Nebraska call upon Pillen NOT to reward Ricketts abuse of governmental authority and to appoint someone else to Sasse's seat in the U.S Senate? Watch what they do. Any who are on the side of the people will speak out against such corruption and demand accountability. There is no excuse not to.

NEGOP should rebuke Ricketts' conduct before we end up with "Sasse 2.0" in the Senate
Many reluctantly supported Pillen for governor, claiming that they would rather get a Republican elected and THEN hold him accountable, rather than to have called him to account before the election. There exists now an opportunity to hold Pillen to account.
Governor Ricketts is seeking to be appointed to the senate seat being vacated by Senator Ben Sasse. But is Ricketts any better than Sasse, who has been rebuked by the Nebraska Republican Party?
The new leadership of the NEGOP should prove that they truly are different from those whom they replaced. They should demand that Pillen, whom they gave their full support as a candidate, show loyalty to the people of Nebraska and NOT reward the corruption which Governor Ricketts led in order to assist Pillen in becoming Nebraska's next governor. (And, which, was certainly done to ensure Ricketts' own appointment to Sasse's vacated seat.)
Governor Ricketts engaged in an abuse of the authority of his position as governor. If the NEGOP, who supported Pillen as a candidate, doesn't speak up publicly now and advise him NOT to appoint Ricketts to Sasse's senate seat, then they are supporting that kind of abusive government--and none of us are safe under that kind of rule.
Will the NEGOP speak up now and hold Pillen to account? Or will Republican leadership sit silent in the face of all of this and allow Pillen to reward the corruption which his friends in elected positions engaged in on his behalf?

Is this who Nebraska wants to fill Sasse's vacated Senate seat?
Pillen sat silent and allowed his friends in our government to proclaim Herbster GUILTY as alleged by Slama. People would be wise to take note of the significance of his failure to speak up.
They should also take a hard look at all of the elected officials who participated in that corruption. (Is the Herbster Victim Witness Defense Fund, established by Republican senators, still up and running?) We have government now that thinks they can just point the finger of guilt at those who get in their way.
It's wrong when it happens to those who attended our nation's capitol on January 6, and it's wrong when it happens right here in our very own state.
Many reluctantly supported Pillen for governor, claiming that they would rather get a Republican elected and THEN hold him accountable, rather than to have called him to account before the election. If you were one of those people, then now is the time for you to keep to your word to hold Pillen to account. Governor Ricketts is now seeking to be appointed to the senate seat being vacated by RINO Ben Sasse. But is Ricketts any better?
Governor Ricketts engaged in an abuse of the authority of his position as governor. If you voted for Pillen and you don't speak up now and advise Pillen NOT to appoint Ricketts to Sasse's senate seat, then you are supporting that kind of government, and none of us are safe under that kind of rule. The NEGOP has condoned it and maked excuses for such behavior when they still called for people to vote for Pillen for governor. Will they speak up now and hold Pillen to account? Or will Republican leadership sit silent in the face of all of this and allow Pillen to reward the corruption which his friends in elected positions engaged in on his behalf?

Shouldn't we INSPECT the machines that count our ballots?
Secretary of State Evnen fights like hell to protect the machines that WE pay for. Despite those machines coming at a high cost to the taxpayers, Evnen treats them as if they were solely his own to do with as he wishes.
He musters no fight whatsoever when it comes to providing voters with the transparency that we have been calling for so that we may know that our elections are truly being conducted securely.
The time is now for our senators to draft legislation which would restore faith in our election process. Make no mistake, that faith has been lost--and with good reason. Nebraskans will be watching our legislators to see what they will do.

Secretary of State Evnen says trust election audits--but should we?
Secretary of State Evnen is trying hard to get ahead of the well-earned criticism of him for the negligence he has repeatedly shown by failing to provide proper oversight of our elections. His recent assertion that post-election audits assure us that we may trust the machines is likely in an attempt to dissuade voters and our senators from pursuing meaningful legislation in this upcoming legislative session which would truly help to secure our elections by getting rid of the machines used to count the ballots.
He loves those damned machines, and when politicians cling so tightly to something--even when the voters plead with them to do otherwise-- you can bet that it's likely because there is something in it for them. Evnen himself points to the potential for a person to be corrupted into accepting a bribe in the video link below:
https://rumble.com/v20j6am-how-much-would-it-take-to-bribe-a-secretary-of-state.html
Again, I think it is quite reasonable for voters to be asking our elected officials (our senators and AG-elect Hilgers) what it is that they plan to do to hold Secretary of State Evnen accountable. We know for a fact that he has lied to Nebraskans. He isn't being honest with us about the audits. And, as the video below demonstrates, he has lied to us about other things as well.

My meeting with Senator Clements
This is another segment of the meeting that I had recently with Senator Clements for the purpose of going over with him a resolution of Nebraska voters calling upon our senators to introduce meaningful legislation in the upcoming 2023 Legislative Session. Clements was largely silent throughout the entire meeting, and I still have not yet received a requested follow-up response from his office. In this recording, you will also hear Todd Watson of the NEGOP, whom Senator Clements invited to join the meeting.
You can listen to the first segment of the meeting that I have shared here:

To secure our elections we must end unconstitutional federal overreach
This is a portion of a meeting that I had recently with Senator Clements for the purpose of going over with him a resolution of Nebraska voters calling upon our senators to introduce meaningful legislation in the upcoming 2023 Legislative Session. Clements was largely silent throughout the entire meeting, and I still have not yet received a requested follow-up response from his office. I will include the link below where you may copy and send the resolution to senators or use it as you wish.
I know that this video is perhaps a bit hard to follow for people who have not delved deep into the corruption that exists in our elections; but I was encouraged to have just seen featured on The Gateway Pundit an article that is so similar in content to what I have been trying to get out there for a very long time now. The problems with our elections are the result of an unholy alliance between Big Government and Big Tech.
In this meeting, to which Senator Clements also invited Todd Watson of the NEGOP, Todd told me a story which I had surprisingly never heard before about discussions that were had with Evnen which caused Watson (or perhaps the NEGOP) to believe that changing our voting system definition to include "any software or service" would lead to Evnen getting rid of Crowdstrike software.
Even if you don't understand all of the collusion that is taking place between Big Government and Big Tech that I try to point out--because it is so deep and wide and this is just the tip of the iceberg--the most important thing you should take away from this story you will hear about the NEGOP's engagement with Secretary of State Evnen regarding election security is that we cannot rely upon the NEGOP to be the ones to know what kind of legislation is needed to secure our elections in a way which isn't the equivalent of a tiny band-aid upon a gaping, gushing wound. As I point out in this video, the NEGOP Legislative Plan for 2023 never once mentioned anything about getting rid of the machines and software used in our elections. I find that very troubling. And, as I point out in this video, I think Evnen got the best of them with regard to that Crowdstrike story. It certainly sounds like he got to set the terms of any negotiations regarding which issues would be addressed. Our elected officials need to be reminded that they work for us.
The link below is one of many on my website which also points to the collusion between Big Government and Big Tech, and it includes the link to the government report on Russian interference in our elections which I briefly referenced in the video.
https://www.voicesofnebraska.com/silent-no-more/your-silence-is-your-consent
I have written a resolution which anyone may download or copy and use however they like, but the legislative ideas which I have suggested that our senators consider are ones which are proposed keeping in mind that the real root of the problem with our elections is the overreach of the federal government and the untrustworthy collaborations between Big Government and Big Tech. We will have a new AG sworn in soon who has said that he will work for the people and not for his political peers. We shall see, for Senator Hilgers will have the opportunity as our next AG to put up a fight against this overreach of our federal government into our elections. Will he have the balls to do it? I don't know. But we need to ask him to do it--and then we will know where he stands. And every senator needs to be confronted with this information as well.
Give them all an ultimatum. Will they choose to protect the rights of the people, or will they choose to protect the interests of their political peers? We may not be able to get them to do what we want, but we can damn sure put every last one of them on the record as to where they stand. And there is value in knowing that. You cannot fight effectively if you do not know who your friends and enemies are.
Go find out.

Does Nebraska use an electronic voting system?
This past April, the Unicameral adopted an amendment proposed by then-Senator Mike Flood which revised the definition of "voting system" to now include "any software or service." I believe that this revision results in our "voting system" definition now being essentially no different from the definition of an "electronic voting system," which is PROHIBITED in our state.
You may read more about this and also about Attorney General-elect Mike Hilgers statement that he will look into the constitutionality of the ES&S contract at the link below:

How much $$$ would it take to bribe a Secretary of State?
Is Secretary of State Evnen being paid to manipulate our elections? Per his own argument in this clip, this is a fair question for us to ask, for as he says, a person could easily be bribed. So why not him? If he thinks so little of Nebraskans as to tell us that we are not trustworthy to provide oversight of the counting of the votes, then why should Nebraskans trust HIM when we are granted no outside oversight of the process whatsoever?
And in this clip Evnen also states that if those who are involved in providing oversight of our elections are caught in a lie, then they should be done for and no longer trusted. The same must apply to him. Secretary of State Evnen HAS been caught lying to us and should no longer be trusted to provide oversight of our elections. The evidence of Evnen's dishonesty and negligence in providing oversight of our elections is addressed in the video links below:

Secretary of State Evnen cannot be trusted to provide oversight of our elections
For those who do not know, the people in this video who claim that the Lancaster County Grant money was spent on PPE are Secretary of State Bob Evnen, Democrat Senator Carol Blood, and the Director of Public Policy at Civic Nebraska, Westin Miller.
I recently posted a video pointing to evidence that Secretary of State Evnen has been negligent in the job of providing oversight of our elections. That video can be viewed here:
https://rumble.com/v1zkfeo-secretary-of-state-evnen-lied-to-us-but-is-someone-telling-him-what-to-say.html
The facts show that Evnen doesn't have a handle on what he is doing. I'll not speculate as to the cause for it, because regardless of whether it is laziness, incompetence, or outright corruption, the voters of Nebraska are harmed all the same.
Our senators MUST step in and fight like hell to pass election integrity bills. Each one of them in the Unicameral should be measured by the efforts that they are willing to exert on this matter. Our nation is undergoing an election integrity crisis, and those who have said in the past that Nebraska has nothing to worry about with regard to how our elections are conducted can no longer use that excuse. The facts demonstrate that our election officials are not being honest with us.
In this video, I reference a "resolution" which may be downloaded and used by anyone who would like to use it. The resolution was written to provide Nebraska voters who are concerned about our elections with documented and verifiable evidence which they may submit to our senators to demand that meaningful election integrity bills be introduced in the 2023 legislative session.
The resolution includes some legislative proposals which I believe address things which would help to secure our elections. Others may have their own (and better) proposals for legislation that they would like to see our senators introduce. For me, the most important part of this resolution is the outlining of the reasons for why our senators absolutely must--for the sake of upholding their oath to protect our constitutional rights--address the calls for our elections to be made secure.
This resolution points to some concrete examples to show why it is that we cannot trust Secretary of State Bob Evnen, and also to why we cannot trust the machines which are used to count the votes. When presented with evidence that Secretary of State Evnen has lied to us, which senators will continue to tell us that Evnen is trustworthy and has done a good job as our Secretary of State?
This resolution serves as a test of accountability to find out which of our elected officials will side with the people and which will side with their political peers. The arguments in the resolution can also be used to contact Attorney General-elect Mike Hilgers and remind him of the commitment he has made to look into the constitutionality of the ES&S contract.
Our elected officials are only going to do what we demand of them. Whether they address election integrity in earnest or not during this upcoming legislative session will largely depend upon what we do now. This resolution was written to help those who would like to "do something," but perhaps do not know where to start. I, myself, am still figuring it out as I go, but the important thing is that we not let up when it comes to reminding our government that they work for us. We will get what we accept, and now is the time to speak up and let our senators know what we will and will not accept.
The resolution may be downloaded at the link down below. I will copy and paste the text of the resolution below as well. Feel free to use it however you like, but please consider sending it to Senator Clements, Senator Halloran, AND to your own senator (if your senator is not one of those two).

RESOLUTION OF NEBRASKA VOTERS CALLING UPON LEGISLATORS TO ADOPT MEANINGFUL LEGISLATION WHICH WOULD RESTORE ELECTION INTEGRITY TO NEBRASKA’S ELECTION PROCESS
Whereas, the oath of an elected official binds him or her to support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Nebraska; and
Whereas, many Nebraska voters believe that their right to a free election and to exercise the elective franchise per Article 1-22 of the Constitution of the State of Nebraska has been hindered and impeded through a lack of transparency; and
Whereas, the elective franchise is the right of qualified voters to cast their votes for the candidates of their choosing AND to be assured that their votes are counted as they are cast; and
Whereas, the elective franchise encompasses not only the marking of the ballot, but also the interpretation (or the “counting”) of that mark which gives it meaning; and
Whereas, the oversight of the software and machines which count the votes is internal to our government and their corporate affiliates in such a way that denies Nebraskans the assurance that their votes are counted as they are cast; and
Whereas, regarding security testing, the ES&S contract with the State of Nebraska includes confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements which instruct the State to “not share or disseminate into the public realm the Testing Results or any other related information,” and “not directly or indirectly publicize in any media or public forum whatsoever any information or materials or any opinions, conclusions, or comments concerning the testing results” (State Contract 88525 O4, p.20); and
Whereas, Secretary of State Evnen has stated that Nebraska voting machines were specifically ordered not to be internet accessible due to the potential for manipulation that internet capability poses to our elections; and
Whereas, despite known vulnerabilities of internet accessibility, Nebraska’s voter registration system is maintained using internet accessibility and remote access Albert sensors which leave our voter registration system vulnerable to intrusion and manipulation; and
Whereas, in a “Joint Statement from Elections Infrastructure Government Coordinating Council and Sector Coordinating Council Executive Committees,” dated November 12, 2020, leaders of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, the U.S. Election Assistance Commission, the National Association of Secretaries of State (of which Secretary of State Bob Evnen is a member), the National Association of State Election Directors (of which Deputy Secretary of State Wayne Bena is a member), ES&S senior vice president of security, Chris Wlaschin, and others involved in the oversight of our elections, stated that “The November 3rd election was the most secure in American history”, and that “There is no evidence that any voting system deleted or lost votes, changed votes, or was in any way compromised”; and
Whereas, despite an ongoing nationwide election integrity crisis, those named in that joint statement still insist that our elections are secure; and
Whereas, ES&S’s history of refusing to comply with subpoenas has further eroded public trust in the services they provide; and
Whereas, hand counting of votes under recorded video surveillance would allow full transparency to the public and would restore faith in our voting system; and
Whereas, on the January 25, 2022 DriveTime Lincoln radio program, Secretary of State Evnen--in reference to a grant received by Lancaster County in September 2020 from the Center for Tech and Civic Life and funded by Mark Zuckerberg, stated that “Lancaster County accepted $404,000, and they spent it on personal protective equipment;” and
Whereas, the “CTCL COVID-19 Response Grant Report” submitted by Lancaster County Election Commissioner David Shively indicates that $0 of the grant money was used to purchase personal protective equipment and that the grant money was primarily used to facilitate mail-in voting, including the purchase of ballot drop boxes; and
Whereas, Secretary of State Evnen stated on DriveTime Lincoln radio on January 25, 2022, that ballot drop boxes were utilized as part of the COVID-19 response, and that “That was the purpose for them and now that purpose has come and gone;” and
Whereas, despite giving an inaccurate reporting of how the CTCL grant money was spent, Secretary of State Bob Evnen claimed in public speeches that the use of the CTCL grant money was investigated and did not affect the outcome of any elections in Lancaster County—a claim which was backed up by Deputy Secretary of State Wayne Bena who said in the Government Affairs Committee hearing on January 26, 2022, “To be clear, the acceptance of this private funding by Lancaster County did not change how the 2020 election was conducted by the election commissioner, or its outcome;' and
Whereas, the failure of Nebraska’s election officials to accurately know how the CTCL grant money was spent calls into question the veracity of the claims that a thorough investigation of the matter was conducted and casts doubt upon claims that it can be known that the grant money did not change the outcome of Lancaster County elections; and
Whereas, these contradictory statements from election officials justify the concerns of Nebraskans who no longer have faith in them as trusted sources, and they merit a response from our senators to ensure that our elections are made transparent to the voters; therefore, be it
RESOLVED that Nebraskans call upon our senators to introduce and prioritize legislation in the 2023 legislative session which would seek to accomplish the following goals:
1) To remove all internet accessibility and remote access used in maintenance of voter rolls; and
2) To change the definition of “voting system” to state that electronics and software may be used in the creating of ballots, and only in the casting of ADA-compliant votes, and never in the counting of votes, though not to exclude calculators free of programmable software, nor electronics as used in recorded video surveillance of the process; and
3) To end the use of ballot drop boxes and to require that any ballots not returned by mail be delivered to the county election office; and
4) To require a chain-of-custody procedure for any ballots being delivered on behalf of another person, such as a receipt process that records the name of the third-party and the number of ballots submitted by the third-party.

Let's hold AG-elect Hilgers to his word to examine the ES&S contract
In this video, I reference a "resolution" which may be downloaded and used by anyone who would like to use it. The resolution was written to provide Nebraska voters who are concerned about our elections with documented and verifiable evidence which they may submit to our senators to demand that meaningful election integrity bills be introduced in the 2023 legislative session. Though the resolution was written to submit to senators, I would ask you to also consider sending it to Senator Hilgers who, as you can hear in the video, has made a commitment to look into the constitutionality of the contract between ES&S and the State of Nebraska. Feel free to use the resolution below in any way that you like.
You may contact Attorney General-elect Hilgers at hilgers@leg.ne.gov. I suggest following up all email correspondence with a phone call a day or two later. Hilgers' senate office number is (402) 471-2673. I would recommend contacting him now, and then follow up with him again right after he is sworn in as Nebraska's next attorney general and remind him of the words he spoke in this meeting that I had with him about his commitment to represent the interests of Nebraskans.
The resolution includes some legislative proposals which I believe address things which would help to secure our elections.

Now is the time to contact senators to demand that election integrity is prioritized!
Senator Robert Clements rclements@leg.ne.gov (402) 471-2613
Senator Steve Halloran shalloran@leg.ne.gov (402) 471-2712

The resolution can be downloaded here:

And the text of the resolution is copied below:

Does ANYONE in our government know ANYTHING about how our elections are supposed to work?
The first call was with the Assistant Deputy Secretary of State. The second call was to the AG's office.
Here are just a few examples of how those in our Nebraska state government embarrass themselves when it comes to trying to answer a question about elections. They simply cannot do it. And, believe me, I've given them plenty of chances. I don't think they even know how. They all appear to be hollow puppets (of whom?) who are essentially just "phoning it in" when it comes to actually doing their jobs.
Ha! But who am I kidding? We know they aren't embarrassed. But they should be. And if enough people were drawing attention to their incompetence, then perhaps they would manage to find a bit of shame at how negligent they have become with regard to doing their jobs as public servants.
Even those who may not believe that there is any malicious wrongdoing in our elections should at least acknowledge that our elected officials don't seem to know diddly squat when they are asked simple questions about our elections. They should be able to provide an answer.
Whether malicious intent or incompetence, the consequences and harms caused to us are the same. We need answers. This is entirely unacceptable.
For more examples of the incompetence of Nebraska's politicians, visit my other Rumble videos or my website, voicesofnebraska.com.

Ricketts on hand recounting of ballots. (He should give Evnen a call.)
https://nebraskaexaminer.com/2022/12/07/amid-lawsuit-over-recount-nebraska-secretary-of-state-to-discuss-accuracy-of-vote-count/
A lawsuit has recently been filed in Nebraska by a candidate who is seeking a hand recount. Secretary of State Evnen has refused the candidate a hand recount. Without a doubt, the way that our elections are run in Nebraska are corrupted. At the very least, they are corrupted in that there is no consistency in the answers which Nebraskans are given when it comes to election questions.
Seeing as how Governor Ricketts agrees that a candidate may seek a hand recounting of the ballots, perhaps he should weigh in on this case. According to Ricketts, when there is "concern," there may be a hand recount. I suppose the real question is WHOSE concern matters, for Secretary of State seems to have none. But then again, when it comes to election integrity, he never does.

Secretary of State Evnen lied to us--but is someone telling him what to say?
"Who's cheating who? Who's being true? And who don't even care anymore?"
I can't help but think that those old country song lyrics raise some pretty good questions that we ought to be finding the answers to with regard to all of the politicians in our state.
I've been hard at work ever since the November 2020 election trying to find those answers. I've learned a lot. This video is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to just how intertwined the Republicans are with the Democrats in our state.
It's time to look all of our elected officials in the eye and tell them to choose the side they will fight on going forward. Which of them will align with "we the people" and pursue true election integrity? And which of them will choose instead to continue to protect their political peers instead of protecting our rights?
I cannot guarantee that we will ever secure our elections. But I can 100% guarantee that--IF we continue to press them and make them answer to us--we CAN find out where each of our elected officials stand when it comes to securing our elections. Words will mean nothing. Actions are all that matter.

America is broken (and broken things don't fix themselves)
I'm sure that this message will be lost on some who do not want to hear it.
We have become a nation of consumers and observers instead of a nation of producers and active participants. It frustrates me to no end that so much of what conservatives have come to expect as "news" is actually information on which we should have taken action LONG ago. With all of the current news regarding Twitter censoring information about Hunter Biden’s laptop, many have likely forgotten about the Anthony Weiner laptop and how our government colluded with media to let Hillary Clinton off the hook and instead chose to target Trump for “Russian collusion.” That NASTY WOMAN has never had to face true justice. This crap has been going on—untried and unpunished—for YEARS. And when he was elected, Trump gave Hillary Clinton a pass! To the disappointment of many, he chose not to seek to "lock her up.” He should have, though. We foolishly continue to rely upon broken government and a two-tiered system of justice to be the tools with which we may win back our country. Are we stupid?
We have power that we do not even use. I abhor the phrase "silent majority," and yet it is one that conservative leaders like Trump encourage. A silent majority holds no power. Conservative media does a piss-poor job of calling people to action. And, whether they realize it or not, it's probably because the honest-to-God truth about what is required of us (if we want things to change) is something that people don't really want to have to hear or to face. To hear it would require us to act--or to choose to turn away from the call to action. Many would seek to avoid hearing the call in the first place, choosing instead to be entertained by the political tabloids that will continue to permeate all media until the demand turns to something more honest and purposeful. How much more proof of all the wrongdoing do you need to see before you decide to get up off your butt and try to do something about it?
News of how our country is collapsing is served to us on a plate that sates our desire to know all the juicy gossip. We lick that plate clean and then eagerly look forward to the next helping of the soap opera. The predominant conservative news narratives are ones that tend to keep people complacent. What will Trump do next? What will DeSantis do? What will Congress do? The focus is always on political celebrity. Seldom, if ever, is the focus on “we the people.” Just as “sex sells,” so do sports--and politics is a team sport. Team loyalty keeps us cheering on bad politicians as the daily soap opera/sport show is a battle between the Republicans vs the Democrats. But the joke is on us. There ain’t a dime’s worth of difference between Republicans and Democrats. The soap opera is scripted and the game is rigged.
Why don't we hear more honest criticism of both Trump and DeSantis (as well as other Republicans) with regard to their failure to have done little-to-nothing to keep the media focused on the fact that many Americans are still being held as political prisoners for their willingness to show up to our nation’s capital and to stand alongside Trump to support him? J6 political prisoner Jeremy Brown has been held in DeSantis’s state of Florida for, I think, 430 days now. Some of those people who have been held prisoner went to our nation’s capital FOR Trump. Some were there because they knew that the attacks on Trump were attacks on all of us. The November 2020 election wasn’t stolen from Trump. It was stolen from US. So we shouldn’t expect Trump to be the one to retrieve for us what has been taken from us. The job of protecting our freedom is our own. Why don’t conservative media outlets focus on THAT?
The biggest obstacle to restoring election integrity has not been our corrupted government. It has been our own unwillingness to act. I focus on restoring election integrity because I think that all other problems that we are experiencing are consequences of the bad policies of those at the helm. Those at the helm right now are tyrants who have taken over every branch of government. There is no longer any system of checks and balances. And yet we foolishly continue to expect to receive a fair shake by ‘fighting back” with lawfare in a two-tiered justice system that has been blatantly corrupt for YEARS now. They don’t even try to hide it.
The best way for us to fight back is right here at home, in our very own state. We have failed to hold our elected officials to account. However, we still want to be able to complain when nothing ever gets done. Things aren’t getting done because too many people—including those in our government and those who hold political influence (such as Trump) who are looked to as leaders—are engaging in the finger-pointing and casting of blame right alongside us. There are too many cries of, “They’re cheating!” or “That’s not fair!” and not enough cries of “Let’s get to work RIGHT NOW (not at some time in the future) to fix what is broken.” As Dr. Frank often states, “Politicians don’t start parades; they join them.” This is true. Politicians are political cowards who are seldom true leaders. It is up to US to lead the parade. Broken things do not fix themselves.
I'm not anti-Trump, or anti-Desantis, by the way. What I want is HONESTY. I want people to be talking about the RAW, honest-to-God truth about what MUST be done in order for that which is broken to be fixed. But we aren’t really having that conversation. That kind of honest discussion is greatly lacking in our world right now. People do not want to hear it. Some politicians likely do not wish to discuss it because it would mean acknowledging their role in things getting so out of hand. Each of us must accept our own self-accountability as well. We must create a new demand for TRUTH with PURPOSE. A few do work toward that goal, but most conservatives have still not yet acknowledged their responsibility to be a loud conservative voice for THEMSELVES and not just an echo of the media. A “silent majority” holds no power, no matter how many of us there are. We are the ones who must create the demand for honesty and accountability. If we do not demand it, then we should cease to be surprised when broken things stay broken.

Learned Helplessness (and The Little Engine That Could)
Why do we keep making excuses not to take actions that will be necessary to fix our broken government?
We will remain in a perpetual and ever declining state of a "new normal" unless we stop believing ourselves to be helpless.
The watchfulness of the citizen is the salvation of the state
1. Abandon all use of the phrase “Silent Majority.”
2. Stop staying silent when you know you should speak out.
3. Stop accepting excuses from your elected officials (and from yourself).
4. Commit to one face-to-face engagement with an elected official. (Even better, find a friend or two to go with you.)
5. Stop believing that lawfare in a two-tiered justice system is going to make things right.
6. Stop outsourcing the protection of your freedom to Trump or anyone else. The responsibility for the protection of your freedom is your own.

Remembering the proper relationship of "we the people" to our government
Bad behavior from government is no different than bad behavior from toddlers. They will do just as undisciplined children will do--they will try to get away with as much as those tasked to monitor them are willing to let them get away with.
And--just as with children--effective discipline of our government is not a "one and done" action. I know from experience that our government will meet us with as much resistance as a stubborn toddler, and if we only try to discipline them once and then quit, they will know that they have won and nothing will change. It does take time and effort to get the desired result. But if people aren't willing to put in the effort and the time, then they shouldn't really be surprised when we get undisciplined government and undisciplined children. We get what we accept.

"There ought to be a law!"
Remember the School House Rock episode about how a bill becomes a law? Well, despite being familiar with that, which tells about how a bill becomes a law in our U.S. Congress, I am finally learning how to actually TAKE PART in that process by seeking to propose some legislation which I would like to see introduced into our Unicameral during the next legislative session.
I've never done this before. I'm learning as I go, and I welcome all the help I can get. These are just my suggestions for two pieces of legislation which I would like to see taken up by our senators. But I cannot emphasize enough that if you would also like to see these ideas be drafted into bills for our legislature to consider, you MUST reach out to me on the matter, for this can only succeed as a coordinated effort of "we the people."
Oh, and we are running out of time. Now is the time to put these suggestions to our senators. NOW. So if the holidays and sports and whatnot are more important to you at the moment, then please move on. You are not the people I am seeking. The hardest part of getting something done is getting people to participate. Once that is done, though, the doorway is opened to bringing the rest of the plan to fruition. But it DOES NOT happen if that door remains closed. And this is NOT something which I will be able to succeed at on my own. It's all about "we the people;" not about "him" or "her" or "that couple over there." Get it? It does require involvement of the people, and I do believe that it is our responsibility to be the ones to hold our government to account. If we do not participate in steering our government and providing them with oversight, then we truly have no right to complain about the government we consent to accept through our silence and our inaction. The choice is ours. And the time is now.
Here are the things which I am suggesting that we ask a senator to have drafted into a bill for the next legislative session. I have proposed that we approach Senator Clements, for he is the only senator in our state who once had the good sense to listen to the concerns of the people with regard to securing our elections. He is the only senator in Nebraska who agreed to sign on to a call for nationwide audits of the November 2020 election. He has since backed away from his support for such things, but I believe that the reason for it is because of the pressure of the comments put forth by Governor Ricketts and Secretary of State Bob Evnen who contradicted Clements' support for audits with public proclamations that there was essentially "nothing to see here" and that elections in Nebraska were just fine and dandy.
So let's find out if Senator Clements will once again listen to the people (and not the politicians). Let's ask him this. Will he take up these two suggestions for legislation? (And if not, then why?)
1) All internet accessibility and remote access to our voter registration system shall be prohibited; and
2) to amend the definition of "voting system" to remove the recently added language permitting “any software or service” to be used in our voting system and to say that "software and electronics may only be used in the creating of ballots and only in the casting of ADA ballots and never in the counting of ballots, though not to exclude calculators free of programmable software, nor electronics as used in video surveillance of the process."
I have discussed in another recent video why it is that I believe we should propose these things in this way, thought I am certainly open to suggestions to make them better. You can review that video here, if you like:
https://www.voicesofnebraska.com/silent-no-more/are-you-ready-to-get-to-work-some-practical-suggestions
If you are interested in helping to pursue these ideas, contact me (Jennifer Hicks) at voicesofnebraska@gmail.com. And if you have election law suggestions of your own that you are already in the process of putting forth to a senator, then please reach out as well. As I have mentioned in previous posts, I have always believed that the only way we will have success in restoring integrity to our elections is if we involve the people in the solution. In fact, the people ARE the solution. Enough time has been spent watching election integrity “experts” outside of our state and hoping that things will get fixed here in our own. Haven't we learned our lesson yet? The answer is "we the people." So if you are engaged in your own efforts, then PLEASE ensure that you are not missing that key component and reach out to me and to everyone you can to get them involved as well.
And finally, the video above was made as a follow up to the one below, which explains why I am wearing a shirt that says "Because I'm the Mom, That's Why!" As parents steer their children, so too must we steer our government. Look what happens when we don't. We go right off the rails. You can view that video here, if you like:

Are you ready to get to work? (Some practical suggestions.)
Despite what some have said, I have never suggested that my way is the only way when it comes to how I believe we should go about restoring election integrity and holding our elected officials accountable. (And those who usually say such things about me are the ones who are running cover for the establishment who don't want to be held to account!) But it is true that I have never been one to invest my valuable time into efforts which I do not believe will bear fruit--of one sort or another. What I do believe is that accountability is the key to bringing about real change, and that efforts which bring about answers from our elected officials are the ones which are worthy to pursue.
I don't believe that the things which I suggest will necessarily give us exactly what we want. But if we cannot get what we want, then we can certainly use our efforts to ensure that we get what we need. And what we need is clarity regarding where it is we stand in relation to our elected officials. What is it that they think of us? And what do they believe is their proper role as public servants? Are there any elected officials left in our state who are willing to side with the people instead of with their political peers? These are questions to which I can guarantee you that we CAN get answers. And we may perhaps also get what it is that we want. But rest assured that we will get none of these things if we do not even try.
It's all about accountability. In this video, I suggest a few ideas about legislation that I think we should be finding a senator to introduce. What I am suggesting is not something I can do on my own, and what I have suggested in this video are just some of my ideas and the reasoning behind why I have suggested what I have. I also state that there very well may be others who have better ideas for legislation which we should be proposing.
But we must act soon! Time is of the essence to get legislation proposed. I am willing to work on any effort that helps us move toward obtaining accountability from our elected officials and the answers to the questions which I have posed above. I believe that any efforts which are to be effective must be ones which are not kept obscured and within only a small group of participants, but which instead keep everyone involved and informed at every step--because involvement is the key to accountability.
If you are interested in helping to seek out a senator to introduce legislation (in the video, I suggest that we begin by approaching Senator Clements), then please reach out to me and let me know. What I have proposed here in the video are starting points and suggestions, but until others show interest in proposing legislation such as what I have suggested here (or something similar), then there is no point in me trying to flesh out these ideas any further just yet. As I said, to get a senator to take up this legislation on our behalf is going to take involvement of more people. If you are interested in working on such an approach (and especially if you have past experience in the process of working with senators to help get a bill drafted), please feel free to reach out to me (Jennifer Hicks).

"Don't Do Nothing" (And what is your "Red Line?")
The quote in the title of this video is from January 6 political prisoner Jeremy Brown, who has been jailed by our government for over 400 days now without a trial. This video is not about him (though I believe I do briefly reference him), but it's about the importance of his message that we "Don't do nothing."
Those who would like to learn more about Jeremy Brown may read about his story (and support him in this gun raffle, if you like--it's legit) at the following link:
https://rafflecreator.com/pages/65599/american-patriot-sweepstakes-raffle
And if you would like to follow the podcast to which he calls in almost daily with updates, you may do so here:
https://rumble.com/user/JeremyBrownCampaign
The above link refers to his "campaign" because he actually ran for congress from his jail cell. Most people in our country probably don't even know who Jeremy Brown is. To me, he is a hero, and a leader. If it were up to me to choose our next presidential candidate, Jeremy Brown would be my pick. Hands down.
So while I do try to keep Nebraskans focused on what is going on in our own state, I believe that one of the best ways for us to "do something" with regard to pushing back against the wrongdoing that has been permeating our country--to include election fraud, as well as the threats (and actual punishments!) imposed by our government upon those who dared to assemble peacefully in protest of the fraud--is for us to speak out against lies at every opportunity and to do everything we can to hold all elected officials to their oath and ensure that they are answerable to us. And it begins, right here, in our very own state.

Reclaim Self-Governance
This video is sort of another installment of commentary about things which I believe we must do if we are ever going to make any progress in the fight against tyranny--AND about things which I believe are imperative for us to do if we are to avoid further decline.
As I have often stated, I believe the answers are to be found in US--in "we the people." (And, of course, in whether or not "we the people" choose accountability and God.) The approach which I have tried to encourage others to take is one that would have them recognize their own value and the need for THEIR OWN voices to be heard. That is how "we the people" get representation. And at a time when our elected officials are failing to speak on our behalf and defend the rights of the people, then speaking up TO THEM is also how we get accountability from our government.
We have not been doing that. Not really. We have complained loudly. We have begged them to stop. We have tried to go around them using lawfare in a two-tiered justice system. (They welcome the lawsuits. What does that tell you?) And then we continue to be surprised and disappointed by the outcomes which such approaches deliver. To truly be accountable to OURSELVES, we must do what we can to make our government answer to us. No excuses. No whining about how it won't make any difference. At the very least, it brings crystal clear clarity about where it is that we stand. And there is value in knowing that.
