The Strange Case of Ingo Swann: CIA's Secret Experiment
During the early years of the cold war between the US and her allies and the Soviet Union, much interest was shown in reports which came to the CIA’S attention, of secret Soviet projects concerning mind control, the ability to brainwash and program individuals at any level, to be subversives for the state, for purposes of intimidation and other tasks. The US was convinced of Soviet success in these programs.
The US was at the time concerned about being left behind by Soviet defence capabilities, intelligence and subversive capabilities, or so it was believed by the US Defence establishment.
Ingo Swann:
Most people in the United States, if they were asked today who Ingo Swann was, would probably never have heard of him nor of his ‘abilities’, even less of the interesting role he played in US defence history. His abilities came to the attention of the CIA and America’s State Security apparatus along with his ‘abnormal abilities’, during the cold war. That however is not where it all started.
Ingo Douglas Swann’s story starts in Telluride, Colorado USA, on 14th September 1933, when he was born. Not an eventful life growing up, but as an adult, he described himself as an artist, writer, and psychic. The psychic part of his capabilities he described as the ability to RV (remotely view, or capable of viewing), events, locations, and subjects at an unseen distance, a type of extended mental telepathy.
In its direct sense RV, remote viewing, isn’t considered the same as a psychic’s ability, people with the ability to assist law enforcement investigators, from time to time, in tracking the movements of a murderer and his victim during an investigation. Swann described his psychic ability as a practice he could only activate under laboratory conditions. Ingo described himself as a consciousness researcher who at times had experienced altered states of consciousness. RV was purely Ingo Swann’s invention.

The MOST EVIL Book In The World: Malleus Maleficarum
The trying of witches didn’t start with Heinrich. Witchcraft had been a criminal activity since
before the 10th century, where it was explicitly named in the Canon Episcopi in 900 AD as
the work of the devil. Witchcraft had been tried all across Europe although the severity with
which it was treated was far different from what was to come.
A witch could be either male or
female and would usually receive a public punishment like being placed in the stocks for the
day if found guilty.
Far more terrifying was the practice of heresy, as tried by the Inquisitions. This was taken to
be the direct opposition to the word of God, and it was believed that the only way to cure it
was through the cleansing of the soul by flame. Being burned at the stake was a costly
procedure and a flashy one so it was usually reserved for only the worst cases. The
inquisition liked to make a statement when it was called on to act, more as a deterrent to
others than based on the real severity of the crime.
Witchcraft before the 15th century had been viewed as a crime but it wasn’t heresy. In, fact
some would argue it was necessary. Whilst many ‘witches’ held the title of a magician or
sorcerer, and many might have believed their own hype.
They were usually midwives and
medical practitioners who treated their patients with a mixture of herbal medicine and holistic
treatments. Some of the more educated may even have practiced versions of acupuncture
and basic triage. They were also known as wise women.
Local populations would often rely on wise women for good luck charms and simple
remedies, even sometimes taking the recipes of spells home with them. There is evidence
among the commonplace books of the time that many families had their own charms and
magic spells that they copied down at home alongside passages from the bible so they could
learn how to read.

The Bizarre Ariel School UFO Incident: Real or Mass Psychosis?
The heat of Zimbabwe beat down on the fields near Ariel Private School. The children were playing in the heat, mid-morning break had begun, and the usual games were already well underway. There was no way the children could have known they were about to witness something that, until that moment, they could have only dreamed of. This is the story of the day that aliens came to school.
According to the reports of 62 separate children on the field that day, a group of rounded silver craft began to descend from the sky. A silence fell over the children as they watched. The craft lowered themselves past the trees and onto the field beside the school. Without a sound, doorways opened in the sides of the craft and a group of creatures with large eyes and black clothing stepped out. They began advancing on the students.
At this point, most of the class decided to flee. Some, however, were held in place, fixated by fear or curiosity. The figures approached slowly, without urgency, almost floating towards the few who remained. The children then report that they were sent a message, not vocally, but straight into their minds. The message was a simple and dire warning, interpreted with different words by each student but each holding the same meaning ‘you are in danger, your world is dying, stop killing it’. Their warning delivered the creatures then turned and left as silently as they had come, leaving the students awestruck and terrified, not of the creatures, but of the future before them.
First Reports
When these events were first reported to their teachers there was understandable scepticism. The children were dismissed and told to go back to class. There were more important things to work on. Upon returning home though the stories were passed to parents and passed around the community. They might have been dismissed out of hand, but they weren’t the only sightings out there. All over the South of the continent reports had been coming in for a few days about lights in the sky, streaking flashes, tracing scorching lines across the night.
ZBC (Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation) radio put out a request for people to call in and describe what they were seeing. They were flooded with reports that all shared a common theme. A fireball was hurtling through the sky at unbelievable speed. Those who described it said it looked similar to a comet but larger than any they’d seen stargazing. As the wave of reports struck the station the whole of Zimbabwe began to break, the story from the little school in the crossroads town of Ruwa started a tsunami.
The children’s story began to be passed around the airwaves, bouncing from new channel to news channel. The atmosphere was just right for it. The reports of the giant meteor had people all over the country just intrigued enough to believe that aliens could possibly walk among them. It wasn’t long before eager ears in the American press began to prick up and the pens of investigators and journalists began to tap eagerly. The only question was who was going to be first on the scene.

The Day Israel Attacked America: The USS Liberty Ship Scandal
The 8th June 1967. The time was about 2pm, the Sinai Peninsula, just to the Northwest of the Egyptian city of Arish. The USS Liberty had just finished a chemical-weapons drill and its crewmen had been ordered into ‘stand down mode’, with helmets and lifejackets removed. The heat of the North African sun beat down upon the deck and the deep blue of the ocean lapped against the sides of the ship. The crew had relaxed after the intensity of the exercise, chatting amongst themselves, laughing and letting their guard down. They barely heard the drone of the airplane engines above them. They had no idea that 34 of them were about to die. This is the story of the USS Liberty disaster.
The Liberty
The Liberty itself was a small reconnaissance vessel, designed more for speed than actual battle. At the outbreak of the Six day war between Israel and several Arab nations, she had been tasked with monitoring signal transmissions off the coast of the Sinai Peninsula. Originally a cargo ship, she had a crew of 294 men, a mixture of sailors, marines and NSA scientists. Her crew were experienced but not equipped for a full military conflict. She had no shelling capabilities, only a few 50. Cal machine guns mounted along the ship.
She should have been keeping her distance. They were in the middle of a war and any unauthorised ships sighted down their coast posed the threat of invasion. The whole situation was a powder keg waiting to go off. With tensions high on all sides, a single mistake in communication could be the difference between life and death. Unfortunately, nobody’s perfect, especially when they’re scared.
The first mistakes
Reports differ on the communications being passed around between countries at the time. Israel says it warned the US at the start of the conflict on the 5th of June that it would fire on unidentified vessels off its coastline. The US denied receiving any such communication, although a warning was sent out from the Pentagon to the 6th fleet headquarters to warn the USS Liberty to go no closer than 100 nautical miles to the coastline of the Peninsular. This order failed to arrive until after the attack the following day.
The reason for the delay, according to the navy, was that there was a huge amount of high priority chatter related to the war that meant the message relay was delayed. A shortage in qualified radio men caused meant that messages throughout the fleet were being held up. This not only meant the Liberty didn’t know about the warning, it also meant that backup would be slow to get out to them if they got in trouble.

The Untold Story of Pope Stephen VI's Scandalous Life
Throughout the history of the Catholic Church, there have been Popes who, no matter how you look at it, didn't act like the leader of the Christian faith.
Pope Stephen VI was different from these morally corrupt Popes...very different!
Where most scandals surrounding Catholic popes are attributed to sex scandals, political corruption, turning the Vatican into a brothel, or a propensity towards pedophilia, Pope Stephen VI is famous for something that had never been done before and will surely never be done again.
Stephen VI put the rotting corpse of his predecessor on trial!

Today, the Papacy is a prestigious institution, and Popes are admired figures. During the time of Stephen VI, however, Popes were used as pawns in an ongoing political game and had commanded no respect.
Italy and Rome were in a perpetual state of anarchy at the time, ripped apart by feuding aristocratic families. From the middle of the ninth century to the middle of the tenth, this period was characterized by a rapid succession of pontiffs. Between 872 and 965, two dozen popes were appointed, and between the years 896 and 904, a new pope was elected annually. In their medieval Italian version of a Game of Thrones, the Papacy was merely another component and prize in the political struggles of the day.
It is for this reason that Stephen felt it necessary to put on one of the most macabre spectacles ever seen within the walls of the Vatican.
Stephen VI (the 6th) served as the pontiff of the Catholic Church from May 896 to August 897.
Stephen VI (the 6th) was elected as the successor to Pope Boniface VI (the 6th) during a turbulent time marked by factions led by the aristocracy of Rome and the rulers of Naples, Benevento, Tuscany, and Spoleto, whose ruling family he belonged to. Pope Stephen V (the 5th) reluctantly anointed Guy, duke of Spoleto, Holy Roman Emperor, in 891.
Formosus, Pope Stephen V's (the 5th) successor, deeply mistrusted Guy, the reigning emperor, and started looking for allies against him. Guy forced Formosus to crown his son Lambert as co-emperor in April 892 to reinforce his position.
Pope Formosus then did a turn around and convinced Arnulf of Carinthia the following year to liberate Italy from Guy's control by invading Rome. In 894, Arnulf's army occupied the entire region north of the Po River.

The Most Bizarre Leaks Of Julian Assange
It is a well known fact that world governments are keen on hiding the truth about their internal and foreign affairs from their own citizens.
However, while powerful nations around the globe may try their hardest to hide confidential information from the public’s eyes, there are always those innovative few that have managed to blow the whistle on even the best kept government secrets.
In the mid-2000s, the infamous hacker and political activist Julian Assange would make a name for himself by doing exactly that.
By exposing highly classified data that revealed details ranging from the mundane to the disturbing that involved the American government’s activities, Assange would incur the wrath of U.S. officials, later forcing him into a life on the run from federal authorities over the following decade.
Today on Villains and Vagrants, we explore the curious tale of Julian Assange and the leaks that would change his life forever…
Julian Assange and The Founding of WikiLeaks
Julian Paul Assange was born in Townsville, Australia on July 3, 1971. As a teen, he developed a surefire talent for hacking web systems, including those at NASA and the Pentagon. In 1991, at the age of only twenty, he was charged with 31 counts of “cybercrime” and subsequently given a meager fine after his sentencing.
Assange would continue developing his skill with computers over the following decade. As a young adult he found work as a computer security consultant, and in his spare time he began the development of a website dedicated to leaking hacked data. In 2006, Assange unveiled his magnum opus, WikiLeaks: an online platform to collect and publish confidential documents.

The CIA's Top Secret Bay of Pigs Mission: Declassified
It started like any other sunny Monday morning on 17th April 1961, clear skies in all directions. A lone airplane limped into view on the horizon, trailing smoke. It radioed in a mayday and the emergency staff snapped to well-practiced attention. They had no idea that the plane was a lie, that its pilot was an imposter or that the next two days would change the course of American history forever.
Arrival
Miami international airport was just waking up to business as usual, the night shift passing over to the groggy morning coffee conversations of the day shift. If the plane caught them by surprise, they didn’t show it. The aircraft was brought in on an emergency runway with practiced ease and the wheels of procedure and processing swung lazily into motion.
The inspectors walking out on to the tarmac were working on limited information, something about a plane from Cuba looking to defect from the Communist State over to the USA for all the joys of Capitalism. As they got closer to the craft, however, they began to realise that this wasn’t quite as simple as the usual defection story. The craft wasn’t a civilian one for a start, it bore the insignia and markings of the Cuban FAR (Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias) and was covered in a mixture of oil, dirt and bullet holes.
The story the pilot told was incredible. According to him he had just turned rebel against the Cuban government and, along with two of his comrades had blazed his way through several planes in the Communist aerodromes on the island before making a daring escape. His story would have made for a great movie, if there were any truth to it. In reality, the man the authorities were speaking to was from Cuba originally but had been living and working in the USA after fleeing the country when Castro had taken control. At the time they spoke to him, he was in the employ of the CIA.

The Strange Phenomenon of Stigmata: The Physical Manifestations Of The Divine
Wound marks on the palms and feet as from the driving of nails into the body of Jesus Christ during his crucifixion. Stab wounds to the body from a Roman soldier’s spear. Skin lesions to the forehead from a crown of thorns - Jesus’s physical execution experience, relived centuries after his death.
Stigmata in Catholicism are bodily wounds, scars, and pain that appear in locations that correspond to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, on the hands, wrists, feet, and body on Catholic mystics and saints, but not strictly isolated to them. The phenomenon is found exclusively within the Catholic Church. The phenomenon has occurred over several centuries but not in any particular order.
Not all manifestations of the Devine within the Catholic Church, affected the Catholic elite, such as Francis of Assisi of Father Pio of Italy. Ordinary Catholics were affected too – some being fake.
Whether such marks are fully penetrating wounds or just surface wounds, is not important.
What they mean and how they came about is the mystery behind how certain believers were stigmatised.
In Ted Harrisons book: ‘ In his Stigmata : A medieval phenomena in a Modern age’, Harrison describes that there is no single cause for the markings, whereby the marks of Stigmata are produced on the human body. Equally, he found no causes in modern case studies, that indicated such marks were produced supernaturally. Are these Stigmata wounds, pain etc, genuine, faked, or medically triggered? The marks of Stigmatism were not considered important by the manner they would appear, but by their religious significance.
Early Medieval period and the Catholic Church.
1048 –
The Great Schism of 1054.
Pope Leo IX, 25 June 1002-19 April 1054, was considered one the most historically significant Pope’s in the Catholic church during the middle ages. At the time, he was instrumental in the Western Catholic Church and Eastern Orthodox churches splitting, during the Great Schism of 1054. As the pope in Rome, he was also made a Saint.
The Eastern Orthodox churches would have no official position on Stigmatism, the Western churches saw matters differently. A much fewer number of Eastern Christians worldwide remained, the majority were Western Christians, between the Greek East and Latin West.
Religious Saints, Catholics and the Stigmata:
St. Francis of Assisi:
One the earliest nonbiblical Catholic personalities, but a Saint of a Catholic religious order, Saint Francis of Assisi in 1224, two years before his death, was known to have been vested with a Stigmata experien

The Strange Case of Dr. Cameron: The CIA's Mind Control Experiments
It’s no secret that governments around the world have gone to immense lengths to secure their existence from global threats, even at the expense of citizens. However, the United States’ own Central Intelligence Agency or CIA has a notable track record of questionable and downright unethical programs created with the purpose of protecting American national security.
While the government agency has presented itself as a safeguard against America’s enemies, it has also made great efforts to conceal its often darker inner operations.
To this day, few are aware of the CIA’s involvement in employing medical doctors to conduct grisly and downright horrific illegal human experimentation in an effort to develop tactics to extract confessions from the unwilling.
One such doctor involved in this scheme was the Scottish-born psychiatrist, Dr. Donald Ewen Cameron. His task would be to oversee a series of bizarre and cruel experiments in an attempt to find a way to alter the human mind and make it susceptible to implanted thoughts and behaviors.
Today on Villains and Vagrants, we delve into the disturbing case of Dr. Cameron and his mind altering experiments. If you’re interested in topics related to the darker side of history, be sure to check out some of our other videos on the CIA and other covert government operations.
