Khaled Meshaal (his name is sometimes spelled differently) is a leader of Hamas who resides in Doha. Born in 1956 in the Silwad neighborhood of Ramallah, he moved with his family to Kuwait and lived there until the 1990 Gulf War. He led Islamist Palestinians at Kuwait University, challenging the dominance of Yasser Arafat’s Palestine Liberation Organization on the Kuwait University campus. Meshaal participated in the foundation of the Islamic Haqq Bloc, which competed with Fatah’s blocs on leading the General Union for the Palestinian Students in Kuwait. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Kuwait University and went on to teach Physics in Kuwaiti schools. He was married in 1981 and has seven children, four boys and three girls. When Iraq invaded Kuwait, Mashal moved his family to Jordan and began his work with Hamas as one of its founders. He has been a member of the Hamas Political Bureau since its inception and became its chairman in 1996. On September 25, 1997, Israeli Mossad agents tried to poison him. He would have died, but the Mossad agents were captured and provoked a crisis in Israeli-Jordan relations. King Hussein insisted that Israel send the antidote to save Mashal’s life. Israel agreed and the two agents were later released in a prisoner exchange in which Israel released Sheikh Ahmed Yassin from jail. Jordan later expelled Mashal to Qatar when Jordan’s relationship with Hamas deteriorated. Mashal then moved to Damascus, Syria, where he ran the Hamas political wing. In 2001, Meshaal moved to Damascus, Syria. After the IDF assassinated Sheikh Ahmed Yassin on May 22, 2003, Meshaal was appointed the world leader of Hamas. Though he was publicly critical of Yasser Arafat, he attended his funeral in 2004. Meshaal was involved in negotiating the Gilad Shalit prisoner exchange deal between Israel and Hamas, who kidnapped Shalit and held him hostage for nearly five years. Israel negotiated with Hamas through Egypt and Shalit was finally returned to Israel safely in October 2011, only after Israel released more than 1,000 convicted Palestinian terrorists from Israeli jails. In 2012, as the Syrian civil war raged on, Meshaal left Syria for Qatar. That year he also visited Gaza for the first time to celebrate Hamas’ 25th anniversary. Meshaal announced his support for the Syrian opposition also in 2012. Meshaal resigned as chairman of the politburo in 2017 and was succeeded by Ismail Haniyeh. On this telephone, a recording was found of a conversation between the terrorist and his family in the Gaza Strip, in which he proudly celebrates the massacre he committed against the Jews. This seems to be normative Western behavior when they hear or read or see the outworking of some of Islam's most anti-logical, evil orthodox beliefs. For instance, this video of a young Gaza terrorist celebrating with his mom and dad, on the phone of the woman who he killed, seems beyond logical comprehension, but, it is what Mohammad taught and what Muslims are supposed to believe. The cold-blooded killer on this phone call believed he would be rewarded with 72 virgins once he was killed in this attack and that his martyrdom would be sufficient to get 70 of his relatives into Paradise! Moreover, as winner of the Jihadi Lottery, the killer's family would be honored in Gaza and paid a monthly reward for the heroism of their son, now banging 72 virgins in Heaven. Thank God, most Muslims DO NOT believe these teachings that can only be from Satan himself. BUT, the 3000 Gaza animal terrorists believed that you go to Paradise, get 72 virgins and you can make sure 70 of your relatives can go to, if you kill Jews during a jihad. Now, if you want to "cancel" me or tell me I'm an "Islamophobe," that's fine, BUT, to be fair, you have to say the same to Mohammad, who Muslim scholars say, taught this nonsense. FROM – TIMES OF ISRAEL – SEPT 2014 Disturbed by sympathy and support shown for Hamas during this summer’s Israel-Hamas conflict, American Jewish rapper Ari Lesser felt moved to educate people about the true nature of the terrorist organization. So to set people straight, he has created a new video in partnership with the Israel advocacy organization StandWithUs. The bearded, long-haired Lesser is not new to taking a pro-Israel stance and tackling political subjects in his songs. Almost a year ago, he made a strong statement against the BDS movement with “Boycott Israel,” which quickly went viral. Like “Boycott Israel,” this new video about Hamas demonstrates that Lesser knows his stuff. “Other artists start with a cool song, but I start with the research and the information and then I write a cool song,” says Lesser. A graduate of the University of Oregon with a bachelors degree in political science, the 27-year-old musician makes sure he gets his facts straight. He sums things up in a nutshell in the song’s chorus: So you want to criticize Israel that’s cool But if you support Hamas, you’re a fool Unless you want radical Islamic rule And stockpiles of rockets at your kids school Remember they send their own people out strapped With suicide bombs blowing up in their lap You think they seek peace, that’s a bunch of crap They just want to wipe Israel off the map In the song’s several verses, the rapper addresses points such as Hamas’ extremist Islamist agenda and its use of human shields and terrorist tactics. It also includes mention of the organization’s summary execution of opponents within Gaza, poor rule in Gaza, and its charter calling for the destruction of the Jews. “It’s crucial to get a song like this out there now because of all the misinformation and media bias,” Lesser says. He wishes the video’s production had gone more quickly so that it could have been released while Operation Protective Edge was still going on. However, he believes that even with the media’s shift of attention to the Islamic State, the song’s message is still highly relevant. “The focus on ISIS is not all that different,” he says. “People are starting to realize that there is a radical form of Islam that Israel is having to deal with.” Lesser has been shocked and saddened by viewers who have taken issue with his making the point that Hamas is not to be equated with Palestinians in general. They may call themselves freedom fighters But they’re just like the Taliban and Al-Quaeda Using lethal force on Arabs, Jews And anyone else who disagrees with their views Due to their violence they have been banned From Jordan, Canada, and Japan The whole EU, plus the UK Australia, Egypt, and the USA It also talks about how Hamas treats those currently living under its authority. Gazans are living in poverty But Hamas just went on a building spree Of underground tunnels, through which they planned To unleash attacks on Israeli land Using 80,000 tons of cement A valuable resource that could have went To development of new apartments To help Palestinians who can’t pay the rent The song's message is clear: It's one thing to criticize Israel but it's another to support Hamas. #Israels911 29 April 1956, Ro’i Rothberg, a member of Kibbutz Nahal Oz is killed while patrolling the Kibbutz’s fields near the Israeli border with Gaza. Rothberg, serving as the Kibbutz’s security officer, goes out on horseback to investigate the sighting of a group of Arabs harvesting the Kibbutz’s crops. This is a frequent occurrence as noted in Rothberg’s logbook which documents incidents of Arabs harvesting the Kibbutz crops, stealing equipment and firing on Kibbutz members. Just a few days before his death, Ro’i had “caught four infiltrators in our fields, beat them up and drove them across the ditch.” As Ro'i approaches the infiltrators, they disappear across the border and, in a planned ambush, a group of armed men takes their place. Ro’i is shot, and his body is dragged across the border into Gaza. His body is returned to Israel, mutilated that afternoon by the Israel-Egypt Mixed Armistice Commission. The murder comes during a period of heightened activity along the Israel-Gaza border with Gaza, which at the time is under Egyptian control, a frequent hotbed for launching attacks against Israel. The enduring legacy of Rothberg’s murder is the eulogy delivered at his funeral the following day by the Chief of Staff Moshe Dayan.
