Postal workers sue Canada Post, government over COVID-19 jab, talk to The Canadian Independent
Two Canadian postal workers, who faced unpaid leave for refusing the COVID-19 jab, are now part of a lawsuit against Canada Post and the federal government. They've joined The Canadian Independent to share their story.
More than 250 Canadian postal workers across the country, who chose not to disclose their COVID-19 vaccine status and subsequently faced unpaid leave, have united under the banner "Posties Hold the Line."
Members of the Posties Hold the Line group are active plaintiffs in a lawsuit initiated in July 2022 by Leighton Grey of Grey Wowk Spencer LLP. This legal action targets Canada Post and the Government of Canada, challenging the legality of Canada Post's requirement for employees to disclose their COVID-19 vaccine status. Each plaintiff is seeking approximately $1.6 million in damages.
Posties Hold the Line is scheduled to address their case in federal court on March 4th, 5th, and 6th, 2024. They tell The Canadian Independent that the defendants are working to dismiss the case; however, they remain hopeful that their case will proceed.
Those interested in attending the hearing via Zoom can do so by sending an email with the case reference number to obtain a Zoom link for listening in on the proceedings.

Regina Watteel talks about her new book Fisman's Fraud, a deceptive COVID-19 study funded by Canada
Regina Watteel joined The Canadian Independent to discuss her new book, "Fisman's Fraud," unveiling a deceptive COVID-19 transmission study funded by the Canadian government that they used to shape a false narrative on the unvaccinated and justify the continued push for vaccine passports, mandates, and restrictions.
Regina Watteel, a scientist and researcher based in Ottawa, holds a Ph.D. from the University of Western Ontario. She is the author of a new book titled “Fisman's Fraud: The Rise of Canadian Hate Science.” Watteel in her book exposes a fraudulent COVID-19 transmission study led by David Fisman, an epidemiologist from the University of Toronto, that was published in April 2022.
Watteel points out in her book that Fisman’s study attempted to overwrite the Omicron wave that occurred months earlier with a model simulation in order to push the false narrative that unvaccinated individuals pose a disproportionately greater risk to others. She says that the actual raw data provided on the official Government of Ontario website contradicted Fisman's study claims.
She explains that the raw data accessible to anyone actually showed that COVID-19 cases had been dominated by vaccinated individuals and that they had disproportionately greater COVID-19 incident rates compared to the unvaccinated. Despite this, she notes that the government and mainstream media continued to utilize Fisman’s study to vilify the unvaccinated and justify their ongoing support for vaccine passports, mandates, and restrictions.

WATCH: Ontario Woman Paralyzed After Moderna Shot; Doctors Attribute Cause to Vaccine, Offer MAID
Kayla Pollock is a 37-year-old mother from Ontario whose life took a drastic turn after receiving a Moderna Covid-19 booster shot. She experienced paralysis from the neck down and has been enduring a challenging ordeal ever since.
Kayla's early years were marked by unspeakable cruelty and suffering. As an infant, she endured the horrors of severe abuse, including broken bones, cigarette burns, and bruises inflicted upon her helpless body by her parents. Her distressing situation prompted the intervention of family and children services, ultimately leading to her placement in a caring, loving and supportive home.
As she grew older, Kayla dedicated the majority of her younger adult years to behavioral training of exotic animals. However, she eventually made the decision to resign from this profession after having her son, recognizing the inherent risks of the job.
Kayla eventually ended up in the small town of Mount Albert, Ontario, where she co-raised her son after a separation. She worked as a casual educational assistant at Robert Munsch Public School, assisting kindergarten children. Her home was conveniently located right next to the school. Kayla's son attended the same school where she worked, and she expressed her love for her job and the positive direction her life was heading. Describing herself as fit, healthy, and very active, Kayla enjoyed hiking, being outdoors, gardening, and going places with her son.
When the pandemic struck, Kayla recalls the mainstream media, politicians, and public health officials emphasizing the severity of the virus and urging everyone to get vaccinated. She remembers health officials specifically advising that those at highest risk should prioritize getting vaccinated. Being immunocompromised and a type one diabetic, Kayla heeded the advice of health officials and received the first two Pfizer shots in the middle of 2021 and didn’t experience any issues. Additionally, she mentions another reason for getting vaccinated was because her father resided in a long-term care facility with dementia, and vaccination was going to be a requirement for entry into the care home.
Kayla then decided to take a booster, but this time it was a Moderna booster shot. She recounts going to a vaccination drive and the police being there. She found that odd and questioned why the police were present. According to Kayla, people were upset that Moderna was being given out instead of Pfizer, and that was the reason for the police presence. Kayla says that something didn’t sit right in her gut, but she went ahead with the Moderna booster shot anyway. She explains her reasoning for getting the third shot was because she felt like a third one would be mandated at some point to get access into her dads long term care home. She received the Moderna booster shot on January 11, 2022.
Four days later, Kayla described a situation where her legs just gave out, and she collapsed, but all seemed fine a short time later. Then, nine days later, she experienced a similar event, and at that time, she called her doctor, asking to see a neurologist because she suspected something wasn’t right.
On the morning of February 22, 2022, Kayla's life took an irreversible turn. As she awoke, opened her eyes, a sudden realization struck her – she couldn't move her body. Despite the shock, she says she remained calm and started yelling for help. Fortunately, her boyfriend who spent the night, was in the driveway preparing to leave for work, and heard her cries for help. Her boyfriend called 911 and Kayla was transported to Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket, Ontario.
While in the emergency department Kayla recounts that the attending physician initially dismissed her symptoms, suggesting that it was all in her head and portrayed her as a "crazy person," and ordered a psychiatric consult. All of what Kayla describes happening is evident in her medical records which we obtained and reviewed.
Eventually, an MRI was conducted, revealing that Kayla had a very large lesion on her spinal cord. A neurologist followed up with Kayla and recommended a course of steroids in an attempt to decrease the size of the lesion.
Kayla questioned the neurologist and asked if the lesion could be a tumor. In an audio recording taken by Kayla’s boyfriend, the neurologist responds, saying, “it's less likely a tumor” and that it is his “gut impression it was caused by the vaccine.” When Kayla questions the doctor as to whether many people have had something similar happen to them, the doctor responds, saying “many people have had it.”
Later, Kayla would learn that she had developed transverse myelitis, a condition that interrupts the transmission of messages along the spinal cord nerves throughout the body. She would go on to spend several months in the hospital, where she says she was offered medical assistance in dying (MAID) on two occasions but rejected the offer.
During Kayla's hospital stay, she received steroids, which she claims helped to some extent, allowing her to regain very slight movement in her arms, hands, and fingers. However, she still has absolutely no feeling from the neck down. Visually examining her fingernails reveals decay due to the lack of nerve function. Kayla believes that if the initial doctor had taken her concerns seriously, rather than dismissing her as a "crazy person," and promptly ordered an MRI, she might have been able to walk again or experience sensation in some parts of her body that she doesn’t have today.
After her initial treatment at the local hospital, Kayla was subsequently transferred to Lyndhurst Rehabilitation Centre in Toronto to undergo several months of intensive rehabilitation aimed at attempting to restore her physical capabilities and adapting to her new reality. Unfortunately, Kayla says that rehab did not help her.
Following her discharge from the hospital, she now takes a long list of drugs daily. She ended up losing everything she worked hard for—her home, the ability to co-raise her son, and her job, essentially losing everything. Kayla was placed on provincial disability and was forced to move away from Mount Albert, where her son lives, into an apartment that could accommodate her wheelchair accessibility needs.
Kayla has faced challenges in obtaining the promised hours of in-home care after leaving the hospital. Kayla relies on a personal support worker to help her get out of bed each morning, another organization assists with meal preparation, and in the evenings, a friend comes over to manually extract feces from her bowel and aid her in getting into bed.
Securing compensation through the federal government’s Vaccine Injury Support Program (VISP) has been difficult for Kayla. She initiated the application process in July of 2022, following up with the program six months later. However, according to Kayla, her application was still under review at that time. Another six months elapsed, and when she sought an update, the program informed her that they had never received her initial application. In response, Kayla reapplied to the program and was recently assigned a case worker. Uncertainty looms over whether she will be approved and, if approved, when she will receive any form of compensation.
Kayla faces challenges in performing simple tasks both at home and in the community. She is in a difficult financial situation and desperately seeks a service dog. According to her, having a service dog would not only assist her with daily tasks but also offer companionship, providing her with much-needed company.
An organization called Veterans 4 Freedom has stepped in to help Kayla and has set up a GiveSendGo campaign to help her raise funds for a service dog. A link to that fundraising campaign is below.

Conservative Leader Poilievre on Alberta's New Transgender Children Healthcare Policy
Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre is asked about his party's thoughts on Alberta Premier Danielle Smith's decision to ban surgery and hormone treatments for transgender kids and if he instructed his MPs not to comment on the situation.
Poilievre responds, saying, "The problem is Justin Trudeau and the media have been spreading disinformation to distract from his doubling of housing costs, his quadrupling of the carbon tax, and the crime wave that he's unleashed across the country."
On a follow-up question from the media, Pierre is again asked about his party's stance on Alberta Premier Danielle Smith's decision to ban surgeries and hormone treatments for kids.
Pierre responds, saying, "We stand for common sense, like on everything else. Our approach is to axe the tax, build the homes, fix the budget, and stop the crime, and we extend that same common sense to all issues." He adds that it's "time for Justin Trudeau to stop distracting and dividing Canadians, let parents raise kids, and let provinces run schools and hospitals."

Slovakian PM Calls COVID-19 Era a "Circus," Plans to Investigate Vaccines, Deaths, and Finances
Slovakian Prime Minister Calls COVID-19 Era a "Circus," Announces Plan to Investigate Vaccines, Deaths, and Finances.
Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico, who assumed office in October 2023, initiates his speech by questioning, "Have you seen statistics on how our deaths from various cardiovascular events have risen because of the vaccine?"
Fico proceeds to address the issue of millions of purchased and wasted COVID-19 vaccines, posing the questions, "How many expired vaccines do we have left, and how much money has been wasted?"
He then shifts the focus to the implemented health measures, expressing his view that these measures, in his opinion, have escalated morbidity.
Further in his address, Fico highlights the alarming figure of 21,000 deaths in Slovakia, attributing them to what he claims is a governance failure since 2020. He asserts, "the government that has been here since 2020 has been unable to govern and has looked only at the unnecessary medical devices and often vaccines in huge quantities."
Accusing the previous government during the COVID-19 era, Fico alleges a prioritization of big pharma's interests over the general public, stating, "They made a lot of money from unnecessary purchases of various medical supplies and vaccines."
Concluding his speech, Fico pledges an investigation, declaring, "We will publish and tell the Slovak public what really happened during this Covid period."

Former Chatham-Kent Deputy Police Chief Passes Away in Hospital After 7 Days of Medical Horror
The Canadian Independent traveled to Chatham, Ontario, to interview Clare's wife, Evelien Wiersma, and share the story of 67-year-old Clare Wiersma. Clare served his community first as a police officer, eventually rising to the position of deputy chief of police for Chatham-Kent. Upon retirement, he remained actively engaged within his community, working with his son building homes. Described by his wife as healthy and fit, Clare had very minor arthritis and was not on any medication.
The events unfolding from the time Clare was taken by ambulance to the hospital, where he remained for seven days before passing away, can only be described as shocking.
On December 23, 2021, Clare's daughter called for an ambulance after her father collapsed at home. He exhibited symptoms of a fever, dry cough, and mild confusion. According to Clare's wife, he had tested positive for Covid-19 days prior and was unvaccinated.
When ambulance personnel arrived at the home and inquired about vaccination status for Clare and his family, Evelien responded and said they were unvaccinated, one paramedic allegedly rolled their eyes and muttered something under their breath.
Upon arrival at the hospital, Clare's 722-page medical records indicated a fever, low blood pressure, dry cough, and slight confusion. Clare was later admitted to the hospital and, two days later, transferred to the ICU solely due to a slight increase in his oxygen requirements, as per his medical records.
On December 25th, while in the ICU, Clare had a conversation with his wife and kids over FaceTime. His wife, Evelien, reported that everything seemed fine during the conversation. Clare was alert, and they chatted and prayed together. However, Clare mentioned that hospital staff were not providing him with information or a prognosis. Evelien claimed that doctors and nurses never initiated updates about Clare, and she always had to inquire with the hospital for information, and even then that was a struggle.
On the same day, according to Clare's medical records, he received a single dose of Tocilizumab, a drug used to treat critically ill Covid-19 patients, despite Clare not showing signs of critical illness. The drug has severe side effects, including causing serious or fatal infections, liver problems, dry cough, fever, and shortness of breath. Health Canada has issued a warning about the drug, stating it can cause serious drug-induced liver injury requiring a transplant. According to ACTEMRA’s own website, it says the drug “changes the way your immune system works. This can make you more likely to get infections or make any current infection worse.”
The evening of December 25th and the following day, December 26th, marked a downturn in Clare's condition. He transitioned from being alert to being intubated and ventilated, receiving numerous different drugs until his passing on December 30, 2021, at 11:30 am, all evident in his medical records.
Evelien states that there was no consent given for her husband to be intubated or ventilated, and there is no mention of consent in Clare's medical records either.
Evelien says she received a phone call from the hospital on December 30th and was advised that her husband wasn't doing well, urging her to hurry to the hospital. Upon arrival, when Evelien entered Clare's room and saw him hooked up to all the machines, she fainted. Evelien was then taken to the emergency department. A little while later, Clare would pass away without his wife and children by his side.
A detailed examination of Clare's medical records revealed a “medication administration record” consisting of 131 pages, with approximately 650 instances of various medications, including fentanyl, numerous other highly controlled and addictive medications, anti-blood clotting drugs, heart-related drugs, sedatives, paralyzing drugs, and various other drugs that had been administered or injected into Clare mainly from December 25th to December 30th, the day he passed away.
Evelien Wiersma asserted that multiple doctors reviewed Clare's 722-page medical records after his death and concluded that he would be alive today if treated for sepsis and administered the necessary antibiotics.
Bacterial and viral infections, like pneumonia, can lead to sepsis. Clare did show signs of having sepsis, such as fever, confusion or disorientation, and shortness of breath upon arrival at the hospital. Additionally, Clare exhibited low blood pressure, which can also signal the beginning stages of septic shock. It certainly would not have hurt for Clare to be given antibiotics, and it is very possible he would be here with us today had the doctors opted to, at the very least, try antibiotics. Instead, they waited three hours before he died to give him two antibiotics.
Evelien felt it necessary to share Clare's story in the hope that others will speak up and speak out. She reveals having two other friends who have lost loved ones under similar circumstances, emphasizing that she is not alone in experiencing what happened to her beloved husband.
Clare leaves behind his wife, Evelien Wiersma, of 45 years, along with their four children, 26 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. Joining the Chatham Kent police in May 1980, he worked his way up to deputy chief before retiring in April 2012. In the last 10 years of his retirement before his passing, Clare was well-known in the community for assisting the vulnerable. Not ready to fully retire, he co-founded a construction company with his son, building homes together. An active individual, Clare enjoyed kayaking, boating, hiking, fishing, hunting, and waterskiing.

WATCH: Wife of U.S. Navy Lt. whistleblower speaks with The Canadian Independent
The wife of a U.S. Navy whistleblower speaks with The Canadian Independent to discuss her husband's leaked internal Department of Defense cardiac data, which gained widespread attention, and to speak about a military service member's declaration that aims to hold top leadership accountable for forcing the COVID-19 vaccine mandates on troops.
In November 2023, The Canadian Independent reported on Lieutenant Ted Macie, a Navy Medical Service Corps Health Administrator officer who gained viral attention for releasing cardiac-related data for active-duty fixed-wing and helicopter pilots from the Department of Defense internal database via a social media video. The data, verified by leadership to be true and accurate, revealed alarming increases in various heart-related conditions.
The data Lieutenant Macie revealed in his video showcased a significant rise in various heart-related conditions: Myocarditis surged by 151%, hypertensive disease increased by 36%, Ischemic heart disease saw a 69% rise, pulmonary heart disease experienced a 62% increase, heart failure skyrocketed by an alarming 973%, other forms of heart disease were up by 63%, and cardiomyopathy recorded a staggering 152% uptick. In his video, Macie explained that he derived these percentage increases by examining data from five previous years and compared it to 2022.
As a result of Lieutenant Ted Macie releasing the cardiac data video, he was ordered to remove it and is now under investigation, and therefore unable to do an interview with us. So instead, The Canadian Independent interviewed Mara Macie who is the wife of U.S. Navy Lieutenant Ted Macie, she is also running for Congress and has very strong knowledge of the situation involving her husband.
In the interview with Mara Macie, she discusses the cardiac data her husband leaked, the investigation her husband now faces for making the video and releasing this data to the public. She chats with us about a recent widely shared declaration letter supported by her husband and other active and retired U.S. service members, aiming to hold top-ranking leadership accountable for their actions regarding Covid-19 vaccine mandates.
Lieutenant Macie and his spouse have been vocal on social media over the years about Covid-19 vaccine mandates and adverse events from the shots. In our interview, Mara Macie emphasizes that while neither she nor her husband can definitively link the Covid-19 shots to adverse events, they question the lack of investigation into such a significant rise in these events. The absence of an investigation, in their view, is very suspicious.

Ontario Man with a Massive Gaping Hole on the Side of His Face Struggles to Obtain Prompt Healthcare
Graham Reid is a 67-year-old retired resident of Waterloo, Ontario, who finds himself grappling with the challenges of the province's deteriorating healthcare system. The Canadian Independent interviewed Mr. Reid and his wife, Ruby, to share their story.
Nearly two years ago, Graham noticed a small bump on the right side of his face, which he initially thought might be an ingrown hair. However, it progressively grew larger in the subsequent months. In July 2023, Graham visited his doctor, who referred him to a dermatologist. Unfortunately, the earliest available appointment was not until June of the following year.
Within a month or two, the bump developed into a significant hole on the right side of Graham's face. Concerned about the worsening condition, Graham went to the hospital, visiting several different emergency rooms and consulting multiple doctors over the months. Unfortunately, he was consistently advised to follow up with the dermatologist.
It wasn't until an emergency doctor in Tilsonburg examined Graham's face and promptly identified it as cancer that the situation took a different turn. A biopsy confirmed the cancer diagnosis, and Graham returned home, awaiting a scheduled day for surgical removal. Despite being assigned a surgery date of January 4, 2024, at St. Mary's Hospital in Kitchener, Graham was disappointed to receive news from the hospital that, due to staffing issues, they would be unable to perform the surgery.
Graham faces uncertainty regarding the rescheduling of his surgery, reflecting the broader challenges many Ontarians encounter within the healthcare system. He emphasizes that he is not alone in facing healthcare issues and calls for immediate changes including government intervention.
The Canadian Independent reached out to St. Mary’s Hospital for a comment but did not receive a response before publication. We will continue to monitor this story and bring you any updates as they develop.
