Catch that Wake!!! Part 1-1 - See what happens after a cargo ship goes by a beach during low tide
Last night I had the chance to catch not one but TWO awesome wakes. These are HUGE amounts of water that get shoved on shore after a large ship passes by and if you aren't careful, it can make for a very bad time!
If you want to check out the video I referenced where the wake caught up and overtook me last year, you can check that out here - https://youtu.be/yAgZxgblPAs
I hope you enjoy this and if you want to see an even better one, keep watching the playlist! :)
If you like this video, don't forget to hit the Thumbs Up & Subscribe and also check out Part 2 where I caught my 2nd wake in 1 night.
Enjoy!!!

Checking out a Great Blue Heron, the VB10000 (the largest crane in the United States) & other sights
Tonight, I was FINALLY able to get close enough to one of the Great Blue Herons who hangs out on Saint Simons Island, Georgia. While I was getting some video of him fishing in the shallow water, I decided to show off the VB10000 which is one of the most powerful cranes on the planet! The crane is here to take apart the wreckage of a Car Carrier vessel, the Golden Ray, which capsized in September of 2019.
My very first time seeing a Falcon 9 rocket Launch - 3-2-2019
Little did I know that 2 years later, I would be OBSESSED with everything SpaceX, NASA, ULA and all the in-between companies not many people ever talk about (Rocket Lab, Blue Origin {BOOOO Bezos!!! BOOOOOOOO}) but this underwhelming footage was my first experience ever seeing a Launch in person and even though it doesn't look like much, when you see these things in person, it's beyond amazing! :) Enjoy!

Catching a nice wake behind a cargo ship - see tons of water being shoved on shore
What happens when several tons of water is pushed on shore by a passing cargo ship?
Tonight I was FINALLY able to catch good footage of a wake (only the 2nd time) coming from a large cargo ship headed in to port. The wakes that come behind these ships can be extremely dangerous and here you can see (on a small, semi-safe scale) what happens when they get to shore.
Enjoy & don't forget to subscribe as my Channel is growing & I will be adding all sorts of new content soon.

St. Simons Island Lighthouse showing off in thick fog - 2-22-21
Tonight was mostly a clear night after 10PM without a cloud in the sky and around 1:30AM, the fog started rolling on mx this is big time heavy fog at that! I decided to walk down the lighthouse and made some still shots that look amazing but the video gives you the whole show.
This reminds me of a lazer show and it's not very often the fog is this thick but tonight, it was just right for a video like this.
Enjoy! :)

Smoke, fog, condensation rising off the Atlantic at the beach in a beautiful display of Nature
I had a video a while back showing small amounts of this but tonight, the ocean is REALLY producing the goods! I'm sure there's a name for this phenomenon but until I find out what it is, I'll just call it smoke. Enjoy!
Taken on Saint Simons Island, Georgia on December 8, 2020.

RAD patterns of tiny brown debris over the sand left by an outgoing tide - St. Simons Island, GA
Check out Mom's artwork on full display! What you're seeing is a billion little fragments of debris that were arranged and then left this way as our last high tide receded. After every tide, there's always something different to see and I'll usually take a picture when I see something this cool but I HAD to get a quick video of this! it's so beautiful & a bit trippy! :)

Brief Starlink-14 Satellite Train Pass over Brunswick, Georgia
I FINALLY caught a Starlink Satellite Train (Starlink-14)! Even though it was quick, it was incredibly bright & they went into the clouds but this was a great warm up for tomorrow's pass which will be directly overhead if you're in the Southeast US.
This was 60 Satellites launched by SpaceX on Saturday October 24th.

BIG wake catches up to me and overtakes me. Why you should pay attention when big ships go by!
This is a video that has been MONTHS in the making. I have tried to capture a large wake from a passing cargo ship literally every time I see one and sometimes, they just fizzle out and other times, they can totally overwhelm the entire beach for over a mile. Tonight though was something in between those 2 extremes.
There's a term called a "sneaker wave" & they're known for coming out of nowhere & swallowing people up & dragging them out into the ocean. This is an example of that but on a VERY small scale. I've had a terrifying experience with a wake before & I had no idea it was coming but now that I know what to look (and listen) for, I hope this helps someone if you're ever at a beach that's near a port and a large vessel goes by, ESPECIALLY on an incoming tide!
These can be so dangerous but thankfully, the tide was dead low an the water wasn't so much that it made me lose my footing but some of these can be depending on the size of the ship, how fast it's travelling and even wind speed.
Enjoy! :)

Facebook Live - 3 more bright red lights in the sky over Saint Simons Island, Ga on October 30, 2020
After you see the 3rd light disappear, that's the end of the lights.
This was a Live broadcast I did showing the bright red lights coming from the North around 100-200 miles away and in moments, passing by where I was standing then disappearing into the clouds over the ocean.

This is the 1st of several bright red balls of light that passed by Saint Simons Island tonight. They started becoming visible from the North from what looked like around 100-200 miles away and VERY quickly flew by and out over the ocean into the clouds. They didn't flash or make any sounds.

Pair of bright red lights flying by Saint Simons Island, Georgia - October 3, 2020
This is a video of a pair of lights flying by tonight. I managed to capture 8 of these things going by and 2 were paired up. Like I said in my last video, I have NO idea what this could have been & it definitely wasn't a rocket. These were travelling from the North due South going VERY fast & I can't explain it.

Trying to get a little seagull to go home and...
It's easier to let you watch the video than to explain what happens. I could tell that it was having trouble flying & so I thought I'd help by putting it close to the water since they can swim just fine but...well, just watch and enjoy. :) ;) :)
