B-24D Liberator - Part 01
B-24D Liberator - Part 01
This is the largest model I ever built, therefore, I thought I would do an overview of the kit. This is a Revell kit #85-5625 released in 2010. According to Scalemates - https://www.scalemates.com/kits/revell-85-5625-b-24d-liberator--146200 the original kit was released by Monogram in 1976 and since then there have been 16 releases, including this one, with the latest release being in 2023. According to scalemates the molds being used must still be the molds from 1976 because the only changes recorded is new decals and new box art. I thought the molds were old because the model has raised panel lines and most new kit releases have recessed panel lines, so...as i state in the video, I will most likely remove the raised lines and scribe new panel lines.
This build is part of a series that I started over a year ago that I call "America Goes to War". As part of the series I built a 1941 Chevy Pickup and a 1941 Plymouth 4-Passenger Coupe. While doing the research on these two vehicles I learned that 1941 was the last year most car manufactures produced cars for civilian use, but also, Ford built a plant at Willow Run, Michigan to build the B-24 Liberator. I thought that was amazing! So...as part of this series, after the cars were built, my shop is being converted to building the B-24. You can view a brief history of these builds on my website photo journal:

In this video I will be previewing what I'm sure is the final design for the
function indicator blink function.
I'm also showing a method that looks like it will work for packaging the chest
lights on a Printed Circuit Board (PCB) that I designed using Easy EDA and then
sent out to be fabricated.
I also have the preliminary sound circuit working, but is far from finished.
If you are interested in parts list, schematic and an explanation of the code and/or to download the
code to experiment with, go to my website:

Dear Sir
The main problem is the fact that we can mix references from the same range, but if we try to use other ranges of paint, for reasons of chemical compatibility, the mixtures are unstable and the results are usually not as expected.
Only if we mix the references in the airbrush cup (Model Air + Metal Color) and use it immediately on the model, the results may be correct, but if we wait even a few minutes, the chemical compositions begin to disintegrate and do not work correctly.
Hope this explanation can help you! 😉
Best regards
Chema Cabrero

01 Lost in Space - B9 Robot - Part 01 of many
01 Lost in Space - B9 Robot - Part 01 of many
I plan to not only build this robot, but also animate as much of it as possible.
This project will be a stretch for me, but I'm up to the challenge.
Some things I plan to animate are:
* All the lights
* Torso rotation
* Voice files that will make the mouth blink to the sound
* Power pack insertion will start the animation
* Claws open and close
* Radio control of animation
* Moving feet tread
* Possibly make the head go up-and-down
Wish me luck. It may take me the rest of my life to finish it, but wow...
what a learning experience!

1941 Plymouth Coupe & 1941 Chevy Pickup Update But Not Final Build - Part 09
1941 Plymouth Coupe & 1941 Chevy Pickup Update But Not Final Build - Part 09
I know I said in Part 08 that the next video would be of the finished models; however, I ran into some issues that put the brakes on the completion. Part 09 tells of some of this issues and are also in the following list:
1. The '41 Chevy Pickup cab had to be put in an IPA bath to strip all the paint and then repainted and recleared.
2. Because the cab had to be repainted, the interior could not be worked on because part of it is part of the cab and part of it is part of the chassis.
3. On the '41 Plymouth, I neglected to put the front windshield divider in place.
4. The areas on the '41 Plymouth where chrome would be are not well defined and are extremely difficult to bare metal foil. I already did the edges of the hood 3-times and still don't have it right.
5. The left and right side of the engine compartment lined up during dry fitting, but now there is an issue with the inner wall on the left side. It can be resolved, but is taking a lot of time.
6. I noticed after shooting this video that the '41 Plymouth body paint has a lot of orange peel that can't be seen with the naked eye, but when the lights and the camera are on it the orange peel really pop's. I won't be fixing that because this is a shelf car and it can't be see with the naked eye in normal lighting.
So...this set me back a-bit.
There are a lot of things that I don't like about the '41 Plymouth kit. I'm keeping a list of them because I have another '41 plymouth kit that I'll build later incorporating what I find needs to be fixed. When the car is finished, I'll share the list of things I would do different and also would add to the build on my website and in the description of the final video.

03 1955 Ford Panel Truck - Part 03
2023 Unified Scale Automotive Content Creators (USACC) Group Build -Part 03
1955 Ford Panel Truck - Part 03
In this video I'm still in the brainstorming stage but have made some decisions.
The engine is mostly built and awaiting some after market parts. I decided
the color scheme for the body. It will be either two tone or tri-tone with
the bottom, side doors, fenders and hood in Tamiya X-3 Royal Blue and the
top of the sides, where the business lettering will be, in an off white,
either a Vallejo 71.119 White Gray or 71.279 Insignia White. The bumpers
and side mirrors will be in an 71.270 off-white RAL9001 Weiss. I'm thinking
maybe the wheels will also be in off-white; however, I'm leaning toward brushed
aluminum. I will also be doing the engine valve covers in brushed aluminum.
The engine is a Mopar Hemi. It's hard, if no impossible to find an acrylic
model paint for Chrysler Engine Red. I mixed one that I felt is close to
what I remember my 1966 225 Slant Six looked like. I used:
20 parts Tamiya X-6 Orange : 8 parts Tamiya X-7 Red (20:8) or (10:4) or (2.5:1)
