Chris LeDoux - This cowboy's hat
Born in Biloxi, MS on Oct 2, 1948, the son of an Air Force pilot, Chris traveled all over the country and overseas. He developed an early passion for the West, horses and rodeo. He found early success as a bareback rider and discovered songwriting which allowed him the ability to tell stories about the rodeo lifestyle he loved. He recorded his first album of rodeo songs in 1971 and created an independent record label, American Cowboy Songs. At the 1976 National Finals Rodeo, Chris won the World Bareback Title and took home the coveted gold buckle. He recorded his 22nd independent album in 1989 and shortly after signed a major record deal with Capitol and exploded into the national spotlight. He released another 18 albums in his time at Capitol Records and sold over 6 million around the world. Beyond all of his accomplishments and success, his most endearing quote will always be “What I want to be known for, on top of everything else, is that I was a good husband and a family man.”
Lyrics:
Well, I was sittin' in a coffee shop, just havin' a cup to pass the time
Swappin' Rodeo stories, with this ol' cowboy friend of mine
When some motorcycle riders started snickerin' in the back
They started pokin' fun at my friend's hat
And one ol' boy said, "Hey, Tex, where'd you park your horse?"
My friend just pulled his hat down low, but they couldn't be ignored
One husky fella said, "I think I'll just rip that hat right off your head"
That's when my friend turned around, and this is what he said
"You'll ride a black tornado 'cross the western sky
You'll rope an ol' blue northern, and milk it 'til it's dry
Bulldog the Mississippi and pin its ears down flat
Long before you take this cowboy's hat"
He said, "Partner, now this ol' hat it's better left alone
You see, it used to be my daddy's, but last year he passed on
My nephew skinned the rattler that makes up this ol' hat band
But back in '69, he died in Vietnam"
"Now the eagle feather was given to me by an Indian friend of mine
But someone ran him down somewhere around that Arizona line
And a real special lady gave me this hatpin
But I don't know if I'll ever see her again"
"You'll ride a black tornado 'cross the western sky
You'll rope an ol' blue northern, and milk it 'til it's dry
Bulldog the Mississippi, pin its ears down flat
Long before you take this cowboy's hat"
"Now if your leather jacket means to you what this ol' hat means to me
Then I guess we understand each other, and we'll just let it be
But if you still think it's funny, my back's against the wall
But if you touch my hat, you gotta fight us all"
Right then I caught a little sadness in that gang leader's eyes
He turned back to the others, and they all just shuffled on outside
But when my friend turned back towards me, I noticed his ol' hat brim
Well, it was turned up, in a big ol' Texas grin
You'll ride a black tornado 'cross the western sky
You'll rope an ol' blue northern, and milk it 'til it's dry
Bulldog the Mississippi, pin its ears down flat
Long before you take this cowboy's hat
You'll ride a black tornado 'cross the western sky
You'll rope an ol' blue northern, and milk it 'til it's dry
Bulldog the Mississippi, pin its ears down flat
Long before you take this cowboy's hat
You'll ride a black tornado 'cross the western sky
You'll rope an ol' blue northern, and milk it 'til it's dry

Which Chris has done it better?
Take a while to get to know about Chris LeDoux and Chris Rea, the two artists you will be listening to. And, while you remain undecided, still try to pick one artist, if you can.
#ChrisLeDoux
Chris LeDoux was an American country music singer-songwriter, bronze sculptor, and Hall of Fame rodeo champion. During his career, LeDoux recorded 36 albums (many self-released), which have sold more than six million units in the United States as of January 2007. He was awarded two gold and one platinum album certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), was nominated for a Grammy Award, and was honored with the Academy of Country Music Cliffie Stone Pioneer Award.
LeDoux was born in Beaumont, Texas, on October 2, 1948. He grew up in Kaycee, Wyoming, and began riding horses at a young age. In 1970, he became a professional rodeo cowboy on the national circuit. To help pay his expenses while traveling the country, he began composing songs describing his lifestyle. Within two years, he had written enough songs to make up an album, and soon established a recording company, American Cowboy Songs, with his father. After recording his songs in a friend's basement, LeDoux "began selling his tapes at rodeo events out of the back of his pickup truck". In 1976, LeDoux won the world bareback riding championship at the National Finals Rodeo in Oklahoma City.

Chris Rea is an English rock and blues singer-songwriter and guitarist from Middlesbrough. Known for his distinctive voice and his slide guitar playing, Rea has recorded twenty-five solo albums, two of which topped the UK Albums Chart. Rea was "a major European star by the time he finally cracked the UK Top 10" with his single "The Road to Hell (Part 2)" and has also dealt with several waves of illness during his long career which have often informed his songs. The album, The Road to Hell (1989), topped the album chart, as did its successor, Auberge (1991).
Rea was born on 4 March 1951 in Middlesbrough, England. He started playing guitar at the age of 15 and began writing songs in his early 20s. In 1975, he released his debut album, Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads? which was a commercial failure. Rea continued to release albums throughout the 1970s and early 1980s, but it wasn't until the release of his 1986 album, On the Beach, that he achieved international success. The album's single, "The Road to Hell (Part 1)", became a hit in the UK and Europe, and Rea went on to release a string of successful albums throughout the 1990s.
Rea has also had a successful career as a film composer. He wrote the score for the 1993 film Soft Top Hard Shoulder, and he also contributed music to the films La Passione (1996) and Parting Shots (1999).

Ten of my favorite songs by the legendary Fleetwood Mac.
Fleetwood Mac is a British-American rock band formed in London in 1967. The band has sold over 120 million records worldwide, making them one of the best-selling music artists of all time. Their most successful album, Rumours, was released in 1977 and has sold over 40 million copies worldwide. The album was a critical and commercial success, winning several Grammy Awards. The album's success was due in part to the band's personal turmoil at the time. Several of the band members were going through divorces or breakups, and they channeled their emotions into their music.
#FleetwoodMac has continued to tour and record music since the release of Rumours. They are one of the most successful and popular rock bands of all time. Here are some interesting facts about the band:
* Mick Fleetwood used to wear toilet chains as jewelry.
* Stevie Nicks keeps intimate, introspective, and meditative journals.
* Christine McVie was the calm one of the group.
* Members of the group had completely different career paths before forming the band.
* They wrote breakup songs about their failed relationships within the group.
* Rumours wasn't the original title of the iconic album.
Fleetwood Mac is a legendary band with a long and storied history. Their music has touched the lives of millions of people. They are one of the most successful and popular rock bands of all time, and their music will continue to be enjoyed for generations to come.

The diversity of their musical influences. The band members come from a variety of musical backgrounds, including blues, folk, rock, and pop. This diversity is reflected in their music, which often blends elements of different genres.
The songwriting of Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks. Buckingham and Nicks are two of the most talented songwriters of their generation. Their songs are often personal and introspective, and they feature memorable melodies and lyrics.
The band's unique sound. Fleetwood Mac's sound is characterized by their tight harmonies, Lindsey Buckingham's guitar playing, and Stevie Nicks's vocals. The band's sound has evolved over the years, but it has always been distinctive.
The band's personal and professional drama. Fleetwood Mac has been through a lot of ups and downs over the years, both personally and professionally. This drama has been reflected in their music, which often deals with themes of love, loss, and redemption.

Enigma - Sadeness (or some know it as Sadness)
The song was written by Michael Cretu (under the pseudonym Curly M.C.), Frank Peterson (under the pseudonym F. Gregorian), and Fabrice Cuitad (under the pseudonym David Fairstein). It is a sensual track based around "questioning" the sexual desires of Marquis de Sade; hence the German release name of "Sadeness", as opposed to the English word of "Sadness" used in the UK release.

Tina Turner - On Silent Wings
On Silent Wings
Tina Turner
There was a time when I would have followed you
To the end of the earth
I was willing to share it all with you
The love, the hurt
I've seen you when your dreams were falling in the dust
But I never stopped believing in you
I always thought our love was strong enough
One you could hold on to
You never see it coming
You just let it fly
On silent wings, silent wings
You can't hide what you feel inside
And the fire has left your eyes
On silent wings
I see us in our dreams and we're dancing
I can almost hear the song
But the prayers, they go unanswered
But we both know, we're just hanging on
I feel ashamed, but I'll never know the reason why
The rug was pulled so gently from under my feet
I only know that something good has died
Between you and me, oh it's just a memory
You never see it coming
You just go separate ways
On silent wings, silent wings
There's no more promises to break
Or our love has slipped away
On silent wings
You never see it coming
But you know it has to end
On silent wings, silent wings
I will never be the same again
I feel the whisper of the wind
On silent wings

Tina Turner - We don't need another hero.
"We Don't Need Another Hero (Thunderdome)"
Out of the ruins
Out from the wreckage
Can't make the same mistake this time
We are the children
The last generation
We are the ones they left behind
And I wonder when we are ever gonna change
Living under the fear 'til nothing else remains
We don't need another hero
We don't need to know the way home
All we want is life beyond
The Thunderdome
Looking for something
We can rely on
There's gotta be something better out there
Love and compassion
Their day is coming
All else are castles built in the air
And I wonder when we are ever gonna change
Living under the fear 'til nothing else remains
All the children say
We don't need another hero
We don't need to know the way home
All we want is life beyond
The Thunderdome
So what do we do with our lives
We leave only a mark
Will our story shine like a light
Or end in the dark
Give it all or nothing
We don't need another hero
We don't need to know the way home
All we want is life beyond
The Thunderdome

What George Carlin says about beauty of the individual and distrust of the government?
You might have noticed that people who claim to distrust the government, don't really mean what they say. They want a different kind of government that accommodates their insecurities, and their desire for control. There's much else George Carlin says here in an interview with Charlie Rose, in 1996. Listen to his view; cynical as it is. And, of course, you are free to think differently.
