Zephaniah 3:17
We can only imagine how the sin in this world grieves the Lord, how His heart breaks. In a world filled with constant sorrow for our precious Lord, it is refreshing to know that we can please Him. Our love and service for God brings Him joy, rest and He sings about our love.
When I think about “rest in his love”, I am reminded of the rest I enjoy from my husband. He shows his love towards me in words and actions. I rest in the knowledge that he loves me with his entire heart and that I need never fear losing his love to another.
Here are a list of ways we can bring joy to God:
-Repentance, Luke 15:7,10
-Faith, Hebrews 11:5-6
-Fear of Him, Psalm 147:11
-Hope of His mercy, Psalm 147:11
-Meekness (Strength under control), Psalm 149:4
-Praying to Him about everything, full submission, Proverbs 15:8
-Speaking His words of righteousness; Gracious words of kindness,
Proverbs 31:26
-Uprightness of my heart; Daily examination, 1 Chronicles 29:17,
Psalm 26:2, Psalm 19:13-14
-Adorn myself with His jewels of mercy, grace, etc. (Gifts of the Holy Spirit) as an adorned bride waiting for the groom, Isaiah 62:5 & 61:10,
Galatians 5:22-23
-Serving Him; Soul winning and Discipleship, Hebrews 13:15-16,
John 10:37-38
I’m sure there are many other references I have missed. I challenge you to join me in creating a list of ways we can bring joy to God so we may seek to “put a smile on His face.”

Psalm 37:31
Just as Jesus quoted scripture to Satan in the wilderness, our greatest weapon against temptations and sin is scripture hidden in our hearts. The more scripture we have tucked away in our hearts, the more ammunition the Holy Spirit can use to push to the forefront of our minds warning us of danger and preventing us from taking that first wrong step.
A soldier when going to battle is given a gun and an ammunition belt, often called a bandolier. A soldier would make sure his bandolier was loaded with bullets before heading out to battle.
If scripture hidden in your heart can be likened to a bullet, how full is your bandolier? Are you ready for the battles of today? How important is preventing your steps from sliding, protecting yourself and those you love from harm?

Psalm 37:23-24
Psalm 37:23-24 reminds us that God is pleased when we seek His direction for our lives. He will not only guide us but He will be right beside us every step of the way. When we fall, He will pick us up, bind our wounds and place us back on the path He created for us. Praise God for such a loving Father!

Jeremiah 9:23-24
Jeremiah 9:23-24, warns against placing your trust and value on your own acquired wisdom, strength, or riches. The true glory of any man, in God's eyes, is a man who seeks to know God.
He spends time daily learning God's Word, obeying it, and building a strong relationship with his Creator. This man turns to the Lord for wisdom, strength, and financial needs. He seeks guidance and wisdom from God through prayer and then patiently waits for those answers before making decisions. He is a leader each family member respects, trusts, adores, willingly follows, and desires to imitate.
He is not a man who never makes mistakes. But when he fails, he seeks forgiveness and works at becoming a better person.
Have you had this type of good example in your life? A father, a grandfather, brother, friend, or maybe even a female that has influenced you greatly? Take a moment to thank the Lord for putting them into your path. Then determine to be THAT person someone else needs.
It's easy to do. Just come to the fountain overflowing with wisdom, strength and riches beyond compare in the arms of Jesus.

Proverbs 14:1
God has given each of us no matter what our roles, husband, wife or child, words to follow which will lead to blessings in this life. Reading His Word, obeying and spending time in prayer builds us up. When we build up ourselves, we build up others. But the opposite is also true. When we neglect our time with God, we begin tearing down ourselves which in turn tears down those we cherish. As we memorize this verse, let's follow the principal of building up our house each day.

Psalm 139:17-18
The most wonderful aspect associated with hiding God’s Word in our hearts is when in time of fear, despair, or difficulty the Holy Spirit brings Bible scripture to the forefront of our minds giving us His comfort and peace. Our verse this week, Psalm 139:17-18, is a beautiful reminder of God’s deep love for us.
Helping adults memorize scripture through music is our purpose. This is not a normal Facebook group with multiple outside posts; no scrolling through post after post just to find the memory verses. We only posts videos published by our organization, allowing easy access to the scripture songs for the sole purpose of memorizing.

Proverbs 28:1 reminds us that we can never escape the consequences of our wickedness; we will always be looking over our shoulder fearing the coming judgement from God. If we stay near our Lord doing right, we can have boldness through His righteousness, facing whatever may come our way. Let's determine to keep our hearts right with God so we may be bold as a lion! ROAR!

Philippians 3:10
While working on memorizing Philippians 3:10, I was awakened to attitudes within my heart that were not in tune with God’s. Negative attitudes towards physical pain, difficulties in life and sorrow; a pity for myself as I questioned why I must endure sufferings. Fighting depression became a losing battle.
I had often wondered how the apostle Paul could rejoice in his sufferings; how could he possibly be thankful for what he endured? This verse sheds light on that mystery: that I may know Him.
Our heart has a deeper compassion and appreciation for others when we have “walked in their shoes”. We understand the sorrow of losing a loved one, when we experience it ourselves. We have more compassion towards people dealing with chronic pain when we feel the awful sensations.
This verse talks about three ways that we can know Him, to appreciate what He went through on earth for us.
First, the power of His resurrection. It is difficult to explain the longing and heaviness of heart we carry when people we love have gone before us. Yet, amid sorrow we find great comfort and gratitude towards Jesus Christ for His gift of salvation and the hope that we will one day see them again.
Second, the fellowship of His sufferings. Experiencing suffering and physical pain helps us appreciate the tremendous suffering Christ endured on the cross. We may never truly understand the depth of physical and emotional pain, but we can comprehend more fully His heart of love for mankind as He freely surrendered to the torture.
Third, being made conformable unto his death. It is difficult to say, “Yes, I’m willing” when the cost is so high. Yet, Christ was willing to experience all the hatred and abuse out of love for us. The closer we draw nigh to God, the more we trust Him, which makes it easier for us to surrender to His will for our lives.
Now, I feel as if I have an upper hand with my battles of depression when I am in physical pain or experiencing a difficulty of life. Instead of feeling sorry for myself, I try to be thankful for the opportunity to get to know Jesus better. This change of attitude brings an indescribable contentment and appreciation for Christ’s love for me.
When a parent sacrifices to give a child a gift, the enjoyment comes in not just giving the gift but experiencing the child’s appreciation. When we see them comprehend our expressions of love through our giving, our hearts overflow with joy.
As we comprehend and appreciate God’s greatest expression of love towards us through the gift of His Son and the sufferings He endured, His heart must also overflow with the same joy.
