I finally got out of the house and found myself out in the desert and the mountains. Sorry about the dust bunny in the video, pitfalls of changing lenses in a desert environment... also made the claim that there was a 90! degree diff from the desert to the mountains ... oops

But my heart goes out to the folks in Rolling Fork Mississippi, I have been watching the utter devastation of the area. I lived in the area for a bit, and these are really good folks!

I wanted to make a video of my first hike of the season in the desert, and a drone flight to get the winter flying jitters out of my blood. What happened was that the wind came up and the audio was so bad ... how bad was it ... it sounded like a Cuisinart in the kitchen ... So I thought I would fool around and make it to music. BTW, a new mic is on the camera.

My last microphone was not up to snuff for what I do. I followed Rob Trek's https://www.youtube.com/@UC4k4g9LVWmGOidD7tzRnYFg recommendation for the Comica Vimo C in the single mic setup. Work's like a champ, and on my gimbal mount for hiking, it does not affect the balance at all. This was just a quick video on what the sound is like for driving. The real test is when recording from my 2004 Mercury Marauder which has pretty good road noise with the low profile tires. But that is another time and video. Cheers!

Yep! I was just crazy enough to storm chase this big ol storm. I'm uploading this two days later and the storm is still dumping on us, rain AND snow! Cheers!

WHOA! My favorite dirt road is available to me again. I want to thank all the 4WD off roaders that flattened out the dirt and sand after Hurricane Kay. I was able to go out on my favorite hike and holy moly! The flowers are starting! It shows I have not made a video in awhile as I made a lot of mistakes, sorry bout that. The official name of the "Purple Desert Majesties" is Purple Sand Verbana, Abronia angustifolia, just did not remember it in the vid. Thank you for watching, Cheers!
